Thanks to this deal, my new years' resolution to stop adding to my game backlog is already broken… ~5 minutes into the new year?!

    • +1

This game is worth it. Play it online with ghosts, ir friends even, it’s a riot.

Happy Ozbargain new year! Hope your 2024 is filled with awesome deals, all time low prices, coupon stacking, pricing mistakes and jv's words of wisdom 😀 🥳

      jv's words of wisdom

Well, there's always a first for everything.

  • +4

I'm here playing the stupid Special World Level 1 of this game. Died so far over a hundred times 😭

    • +2

I thought I was the only one struggling lol

    • Time to rage quit…. 🤣

    • I only managed to beat 5 of the special world levels. The rest were too hard.

    • +1

Now you know how goombas feel

    • +2

The one with thr blockw in time with the music? The trick is to do it fast. Goddamn drunk. The fuzzy level

      • Yes that one. I'm using a rubber band so the dash button is pressed all the time. Then all I need to press is the jump button. And as the elephant. I can get to the end with the narrow walls the slide off

        • The badge that gives you a second chance when hitting lava etc helps with this. Not wo much with continuing it, but gives you a chance to pause and restart which saves you a life.

    • +1

Here I thought this was the easiest Mario yet. I think the only part that really got me was the end of the Final Final Test with the invisible badge.

      • Exact same experience as me. I ended up cheating on that part.

      • Climb to the Beat was difficult as well, taking me a few attempts, but Final Final Test made that look easy.

        • I used Climb to the Beat to grind coins so I could buy everything since the level is actually quite short. Also helped a bunch of people cheese the level by repeatedly leaving a standee at the end after each run.

  • +1

Meh, I paid $61.20 at HN with 10% discount code.

    • +2

I paid $54 from target when combined with the $10 off $50 or more code for signing up to the newsletter.

    • -8

Meh I just downloaded it for $0.

      • +3

And you ruined it for yourself by missing out on the game's best feature; multiplayer with randoms.

      • "LOOK AT ME GUYS, I BROKE THE LAW!"

      • +1

Getting it for free 'that' way, is not the true Ozbargain way!

Hand in your badge and gun!

  • +2

First deal of the year! Great job OP

  • First deal of the year - cheers OP.

  • Be careful of the hype, fun game for younger kids but overall very easy and little replay value. NSMBU is overall a much better game as far as gameplay and challenge balance.

    • +2

      Disagree. But hey, everyone’s different!
Played every Mario 2D and 3D game in existence (except Lost Levels on NES).
I’d say yes - the balance ain’t great, but once you hit the final levels, plus Special World levels..it’s some of the harder stuff created.
Honestly? The Final Final Test Badge Marathon is the hardest final Mario level EVER. Makes The Perfect Run and Champions Road seem relatively easy!

      • Haven't played wonder but harder than 3d worlds champion road?

    • +2

Play online with ghosts. It’s endlessly funny having someone else. Somewhere else in the world. Try and help you or emote at you are playing a level..

    • -1

Agreed, this game was boring. Finished in less than two days and was surprised at how basic it was.

Get it if you want to turn Mario into an elephant, don't get it for the gameplay.

      • +1

This game is better with kids though.
I play it with my 3 year old. She likes it, but like me she prefers sonic.
Sonic superstars is our main Co op game

      • +4

Imagine thinking a game is boring but spending 15-20 hours on it in a 48 hour period. That's like binge watching the 8 Harry Potter films over 2 days and then complaining they're boring

        • -1

My switch says I played it for "5 hours or more", so I didn't even make it to ten hours. I kept expecting it to get better or there to be more to it, but there never was. I found it boring and not a good Mario game.

          • @spirrowhack: Currently played between 35-40 hours. (only single player). If you want to complete EVERYTHING, it’s a lot!

    • +1

NSMBU will never be a fun game with young ones, I'm not sure why they have the mechanic in where all the players 'bump' into each other?

      Soooo frustrating.

      • Yeah Super Mario 3D World and Mario Wonder are MUCH better games than New Super Mario Bros U.

        It's not close.

I actually think 3D World beats Mario Wonder overall, but Wonder is still an excellent Mario game, bursting with fun and originality.

        • +1

3D World is the kind of game that splits up families and loses friends with the trolling you can do in it. The levels are fantastic though.

  • +1

Anyone also got super mario party? Which ones better?

    • They are both GREAT!
Mario wonder suitable for 1 or 2 players I recon. Me and my son(6 yr old) having a great time with this game. If you have guests for more than 2 players, then choose Mario party(remember to get extra Joycons).

      • -1

Thanks for the insight, I will probably get super mario party first then as hoping to get a game for more players 3-4.

    • +1

Wonder is much, much better than any of the Mario partys.

It also supports 4 players simultaneous co-op, while Mario party you have to sit around waiting for your turn. Boring for the younger kids.

$46.50 from Amazon warehouse if you don't need plastic case, bought one from last time, it came in with just cartridge…

    • That must have been a one-off deal.
Can’t find it on there atm.

it came in with just cartridge

Do you mean to say generic case without the art, or literally cartridge in an Amazon envelope ?

      • yes, it was in Amazon bubble package wrapped with the art paper

        • It would tell you exactly what is in the package before you commit to buy used. So your used copy would have stated this upfront.

  • +2

I got it, very good game
