    Coupons gone :(

Bugger. I was just about to post: "Where's the coupon code?" :(

  • Happy New Year!
Does any one have insights into this camera compared to Reolink RLC-820B or RLC-811A. I would like to integrate it with Home Assistant.

  • Having a desperate look on ebay, how does this stack as an alternative. Looks to be a rebrand of the same? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/186028520450
If its great ill buy but not sure how to judge its value, as an install would probably air task that for $500 aswell.

  • Bugger…too late…

  • Do these work over existing coax cable?

    • +4

No. These are powered over ethernet (POE) and not the earlier BNC (Coax) as they are restricted in bandwidth and distance in comparison

  • Anyone have advice on Eufy vs Reolink?

    • Eufy if you want wireless; Reolink if you want wired (PoE).

  • Does these or other reolink systems integrate well with Google home stuff to view the cameras? Or is it just reolink app you have to use to view?
I swore I seen on one of type off individual reolink camera info that it only works by itself with Google home and not if hooked up to a NVR .

Im quite invested in the Google world ,so trying to justify buying this or something similar, as we have the older coaxial system from previous house owner ,with bugger all instructions

    • I've seen sites that say you can view the cameras on home screens and get doorbell notifications through google speakers.

      • Cheers buddy

      • I have done the Google Home integration only to be hugely disappointed with the huge lag / latency with some of the streams.
This is a known issue (if you google it).

  • Great deal if you need decent cameras for a good price. But I ended up buying a set of 811A's for a little bit more.

If anyone is on the fence, look into the difference between the higher models. They have a wider field of view, spot light option.

But for me an important feature is the auto alarm noise which can be set on a timer. Which imo is a huge theft deterrent. Theives generally don't care about cameras and being recorded because there's not much anyone can do with the footage. But I've seen videos of would be theives run in fear when they hear the alarm.

Same here, bought a set of the 811A on Boxing Day.

      • What was the deal then?

Wasn't the best price (~$850 for 4 Cameras + NVR), but needed to replace our existing cameras which died a few days before Xmas.

          • @RichardL: Could an option be to sell some of these cameras from this kit, and upgrade a few to 811As?

I only really need 2 or 3, so perhaps can use the 811A in the more critical spots (e.g. the primary camera on the driveway)

That's definitely possible, since they use the same Reolink NVR.

I only went 4x 811A cause I wanted to cover all four sides of the house with spotlight cameras. I've also added the Reolink PoE Doorbell to the front door too.

Planning to pick up a few more cameras in the future (still 3 channels left on the NVR), but haven't planned that far ahead yet.
