Gaming Laptop to Replace i5 6600 + GTX 1070

I have a i5 6600, 1070, 16gb ram PC I am wanting to replace, mainly because games like Path of Exile that are CPU intensive just completely die.

I have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (5800h, 3060, 16gb) that I am happy with and I was thinking about going Lenovo again with an Intel chipset and a 4070.

Are the Lenovo Legions still recommended here on ozbargain or is all the cybersecurity concerns related to Lenovo turning people off of them here? The reason I went with the Lenovo initially was beacause they had decent screens, proper wattage GPU's and the cooling didn't suck.

What are the recommendations for gaming laptops now? Maybe 2.5k budget (could stretch if worth it).

I was looking at this:

It is the 5i model though.

Well. Lenovo Legion gaming laptops are still popular amongst ozbargainers, except you could get that Pro 5i for $300 less just before Christmas.

  • Try the usual places, CenterCom, PCCG, MSY, Mwave, Scorptec. Compare prices and buy, easy! They are running specials on last year's Legions now due to new CPU's coming very soon. Expect stores to try and clear out last year's excess stock to make way for new hardware.

You can pick a Legion up for $2.6K with a 4070 @ Mwave. I just got a email with Lenovo sales.

Check other stores though first, sometimes one will have a killer deal. I saw a Legion 7 Pro with a 4090 for $4.5K @ CenterCom. other stores have followed but a few hundred more expensive.
