These are good, strong magnetic attachement is really nice

This one blew up in my tent recently when camping in Queensland (approx 40-45c).

If you’re not planning to get it that hot, you’ll probably be okay. But in Queensland summer that’s not that unusual.

That's bit uninspiring hey? Think I'll stick to primary cell stuff for applications like that then.

Yikes, thanks for sharing, was going to get a second one but won't risk it.

      • +1

Me too. Saw listing and wanted to buy, went and had luch, came back and expired already.

Read this and now not so sure if I missed out on great price for great light, or not so good of a light.

In all fairness, there will always be a failure rate when it comes to anything with re-chargable

batteries, especially LiPo-cells, especially in heat, although 40-45C should be within safe operating range,

although reaching max levels. Was it on when it blew up ? If so on what setting, low/med/max ?

        • +1

It was off when it blew. It was plugged into a charger, but by the time it blew it was fully charged, so it shouldn’t have been drawing anything from the power bank.

@Arjuna: Thanks. Yeah, charging up batteries in hot temperatures is probably the most dangerous

time for them. Possibly a faulty battery, maybe try warranty claim if possible.

@ozhunter68: That's a good idea, I only bought it a couple of months ago. I'll give it a go.

    • Are the cells replaceable?

      • +1

If well skilled maybe, for the rest best avoid.

    • Was there smoke and fire? What mode/settings (low, mes, brightest) were you using and how long was it on for (few mins, an hour, etc)?

Just curious, so myself and others cash take precautions when we byy/use this light

    • Just replying to my comment to give Wuben a lot of credit. I was within my warranty window so I put in a claim and they’re shipping me a new one. They just wanted to see the damage on the old one and no other bs (no shipping it back to them or anything).

They just straight up processed a replacement through Amazon (where I bought my initial device).

      Would recommend this company!

these are great to take with you for night photos too - i had one during christmas lights at Hunter valley. Lights the face up nicely without washing out background photos turned out great.
FYI my phones night photos arnt great - this bridges the gap. doesnt make them pro level but definately ALOT better

    • Good idea thanks! Do you just stick the light onto the back of your phone and shoot?

      • +2

It's got a screw mount on the bottom so can get a tripod or stick to something magnetic.

      • +1

I just held it with the other hand. No tripod.

This is one of the photos. Nice colours foreground & background

        • Wow came out really nice! Thanks for showing. Mine should arrive soon!

  • Is this style easier to break compare to the regular handheld torchlight when you drop it ?

    • +4

Very very solidly built in my opinion.

Got x2 before Xmas to use camping over new year. Worked excellently for lighting under my awning and gazebo respectively.

The included magnet is great, and if no steel available the strap and spring clip included did the trick, using the adjustable ring to get the angle right.

Just watch these in the heat as above and the accidental switching on (I kept mine packed so to avoid this) and they're awesome lights.

  • Looks good. Added to my list.

  • Just received it, great build and like the feature that you can adjust the colour temperature. Wish they include a carrying case though
