[PC, Steam] 90% off Firewatch $2.95 (Was $29.50) @ Steam

2900

Very highly rated game available for all time low. It's "just a walking sim", however it's consistently reviewed as an atmospheric masterpiece.

For less than the price of a cup of coffee, you get 4-5 hours of enjoyable entertainment.

Firewatch including original soundtrack bundle available as well for $11.15 (not all time low).

Firewatch is a single-player first-person mystery set in the Wyoming wilderness.

The year is 1989. You are a man named Henry who has retreated from his messy life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. Perched high atop a mountain, it’s your job to look for smoke and keep the wilderness safe. An especially hot, dry summer has everyone on edge. Your supervisor Delilah is available to you at all times over a small, handheld radio—your only contact with the world you've left behind. But when something strange draws you out of your lookout tower and into the forest, you’ll explore a wild and unknown environment, facing questions and making choices that can build or destroy the only meaningful relationship you have.

The Firewatch Original Sountrack by Chris Remo features a half hour of original music including the song Ol' Shoshone, written by Sean Vanaman. Remastered for standalone release by Chris.

loved this game.. just get it

    • Yep, bought 10, thanks to the OP.

      • +2

        noob, should have bought 20

  • +12

Certainly wouldn't recommend this for $30 but $3 is a steal.

    • +3

Yeah, been on my watchlist for a while, waiting for sub-$5.

    • +5

I personally would have been happy to pay $30 for this.

    • +4

I’d pay $10 to $15 for it. It’s as good if not better than seeing a movie at the cinema. $3 is a steal.

  • +3

    Absolutely loved this one.

  • +3

Fantastic game, it's a steal at that price

  • +2

Great game. Definitely worth it at $3.

  • +2

This game had me very emotional.

  • +8

Fantastic game. Only advice I would give is to play through the game for the first time ignoring any achievements. If you want to obtain them, do so on a second play through.

  • +1

Has this been free before through Epic?

    • +2

No, not on Epic, so this is the cheapest it's been according to ITAD

    • +4

Not on epic, but it is on game pass.

  • +4

It is a walking sim, but it's still a very enjoyable 4-5 hour bite-sized chunk of gaming. At $3 this is more than appropriately priced.

  • +6

Apparently has a great VR mod. I'll check it out, thanks OP.

  • Does anyone know if one purchased this game during the Winter sale is eligible to get a refund and repurchase at the lower price?

    • +2

I would assume standard policy applies? If you purchased within the last 2 weeks and have played less than 2 hours, you should be good to get a refund?

      • +1

Thanks that should be good then. I bought mine on the 27 Dec and I haven't played it yet.

        • You can give it a try.
Sometimes they allow it outside of the 2 week window

          • @[Deactivated]: Thanks. Steam was very kind to refund me the full amount and letting me repurchase it at the new price. The refund was approved within the same day but the funds took about 12 hours before it is available on my Steam wallet.

            • @Davesday: yeah the refund can take up to 2 days to go to your wallet. Obviously longer to go back to card if thats how you pay.

But they're usually somewhat lenient when it comes to the refund window.

  • +3

    Fine I'll bite.

  • +5

Great game, and I would certainly recommend for this price if you haven't finished it already.

For those who've played it, check out the "real life" version, captures the feel of the wilderness quite well! :)

    absolute cracker of a game.

pretend it's a movie or tv show and sit down and play it with a partner or friend over a few sessions.

    really great soundtrack and visuals.

    • Wait, this has co-op?

      • no no, not that i know of. i meant just sit down with someone and play it 'together' lol

  • +1

    Looks like a nice game!

  • +1

Is Campo Santo ever going to get around to releasing that next game 🤔

    • +3

They were acquired by Valve, and you can definitely feel their influence in Half Life Alyx. Holding out hope for Valley of Gods to be released as a VR title but it seems unlikely at this point.

  • +2

It's been in my watchlist for about 4 years and finally caved in. Thanks OP.

  • +2

This is an excellent game. It’s an engaging story/mystery. Their ability to introduce characters that are believable and you care about is amazing. I paid $12 to play this on PS and have no regrets.

  • +1

This seems like an interesting game, looks great from what i saw from the trailer. Are there any jump scares or anything?

    • +2

from memory there aren't any JUMP scares. it's more of a psych thriller. that said, it's certainly stressful and if you're sensitive (or thinking of getting it for someone who is) to that sort of thing, maybe it's not for you.

    • Yeah kindy creepy. I wish it explored the thriller part more.

    • +3

No real jump scares and you aren't directly attacked by anyone. More creepy vibe in some parts, being followed, seeing strange things ect. You are mostly alone in the wilderness investigating things for the majority of the game.

  • +4

Great game. My finger got sore from holding down W for hours..

    • +4

My finger got sore from holding down W

Mine never did; was too frequently stopping and admiring the scenery 😆

  • +2

Can someone play this and stream it live so I can just play it vicariously through you?

  • +1

Thanks, been wanting this since release.

  • +1

Bought this a few days ago for $7, even at that price it's totally worth it. I watched Markipliers walkthrough years ago, really Keen to try it in VR with the VR mod.

  • Does it have Devils Tower and UFOs?

  • +1

    Thanks :)

  • +1

I quite liked Firewatch myself. Would recommend.

  • Decent game was expecting a better ending, a twist or something.

  • +1

    Great game. 👍

  • +1

Played through last night, well worth the $

Plus they mention Melbourne in it :)

  • +1

This isn't a game I'd normally second glance on steam, but I had a great escape.

    Thanks OP

    • Glad you enjoyed it. I've installed it, but yet to venture in. Though I'm looking forward to it when I can find a few hours

  • +1

This game brought me a lot of summer memories back in 2021.
