Got this in May last year for $550. Would've thought it'd be a bit cheaper by now.

    • How do you rate it? I'm looking for something around this price point

Goes well, multi level mapping is good. Not used the mop function too often as it just drags a rag really.

We’ve got the T8 AIVI and it works well enough for single floor. But not great if you have multiple floors because it gets confused which map to use. So we thought get a second robot vac for convenience and decided to get the X1 Plus. I wouldn’t recommend the X1. The mapping software is very bad. It doesn’t resemble our house. The robot vac keeps losing its way back to the charging dock. Constantly roaming the house looking for the dock, rather than take the shortest path.

We recently got the Roborock S8. OMG it is the gold standard in my opinion.

Highly recommend if you have the budget the Dreame L20. We had the Ecovacs T8 AIVI , but sent it back after two years of it losing its maps (including replacement).

Dreame cleans and does not leave streaks on our bamboo flooring, and vacuum appears to be equivalent to the Ecovacs

I would say at this price point, previous deal was much better option. Mop lift, mop clean etc.

    • That was a great deal

    • VSLAM navigation though yuck….

    I have a T10 Plus and it’s hot garbage.

It randomly forgets the map, will randomly forget where its base is, will just die randomly while doing it’s scheduled cycle, it will dock to the base and won’t charge intermittently, will get stuck on the randomly things like chair legs.

I’ve had it for 6 months and and I hate it, I will be returning to Amazon this week.

I had an absolute bottom of the barrel cleaner before Uoni V980 Plus and only replaced it because it it died after just under 2 years and got an Amazon refund. But it was 200% better

    • tried a firmware update?

    • This happened to mine too i think its ecovacs system is shitty after a while
Ive returned mine to amazon already.

Avoid Ecovacs. Nothing but headaches. So regret it.

        • They're good and vacuum carpet really well with good Zig zagging, but then the software and connection starts to fail and it turns to shit until you reset it. Also the support is average in comparison to Roborock/Xiaomi.

I've got a mi robot vacuum with Valetudo firmware (and an r2d2 sound pack lol) that I've had for years and it just works non stop every single day without issues other than something jamming the brush that shouldn't have been on the floor.

    • I have the same experience. I found it loses connection to the cloud (but still is showing connected to my Unifi wifi), once it does that its hard to get back without doing wifi reconfiguration on the vacuum. When it does that, it loses the map etc…

I wish i'd bought another vacuum, google brings up many other people with the same problem with no known fix. Have tried setting reserved IP, locking to one AP, no dice.

It randomly just drops off (weekly sometimes) and loses HA connection also.

    • I just bought an N8 Pro as a Christmas gift for my in laws. It has been terrible. It’s slow, the map it has produced is garbage, it almost always gets lost on the way back to the charging station and it often complains of being obstructed when in clear space. It’s going back to the shop tomorrow. Actually a bit embarrassing (as a gift).

By contrast, I bought a Roborock S50 5 years ago (for my own house) and that has been brilliant.

  • I like the mopping ones.

    Can’t confirm it’s garbage

oh they make enough money, happy to be proven wrong though if they open their books :P

        • Don't like it, don't participate. Simple

          oh they make enough money

by this logic, do you just walk out of shops and not pay?

    • Some posts have links in the description for that purpose?

  • I have been looking into buying one of these Robo Vacuums. Which brand is recommended for single-story homes? Only one room is carpeted rest is all tiled with a few rugs.

    • +2

I wouldn’t recommend Ecovacs. T8 is OK but the newer ones not so much.

Recently got the Roborock. WOW it is miles ahead of Ecovacs.

      • Cheers. I will check the Roborock. Any particular model?

    • I'll add in another low cost one for vacuuming … the Botslab 360 S8+ https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/778698
The thing has been a gem. Just does what it says on the tin every 2nd day + individual special clean-ups when needed.
Docking station is a game changer.

  • Anyone can share experience with replacement bags from collection station?

Can we reuse them or need to buy Ecovacs specific bags only after every time replacing a filled bag.

As I have seen Ecovacs provided bags are $19 for pack of 3, so can get expensive over time https://www.amazon.com.au/ECOVACS-Original-Cleaner-AIVIAuto-…

    • Not sure about this brand in particular, but aliexpress typically has replacement bags that work well for much much cheaper.

      • Thanks will check on Ali Express 👍

    • I have never replaced, just tip them out.. comes with 3
