NordVPN: 98% Cashback (Uncapped) for New VPN Plan Customers @ Cashrewards

560

On again is the high cashback rate on Nord VPN. Get in quick as this one ends tonight, especially if you missed it last time

Be sure to check the terms below and TA's handy tips here

And as mentioned in the terms below in bold don't add any of the upsold products. A lot of people do and wonder why their cashback is lower. If you make a mistake you can cancel for a refund.

Special terms

  • Eligible for new NordVPN customers only.

  • Cashback is calculated and paid on the advertised cost of the plan only. It will exclude upsold products, GST, other taxes, credit card or PayPal surcharges.

  • The transaction sale value reports to us in USD and is subject to currency conversion. Final cashback value is based on the exchange rate at the time of approval.

Cashback is ineligible on the following:

  • Upsold products such as NordPass & NordLocker.
  • Purchases using coupon codes not listed on Cashrewards.
  • Purchases made with Crypto currency.
  • Purchase of gift cards or use of gift cards for full or partial payment.
  • Purchase that are cancelled, returned, exchanged or refunded.
  • GST, other taxes and delivery fees.
  • Fraudulent transactions.
  • Purchases using any type of discount which lowers price advertised on the Merchant site, including but not limited to employee discounts, student discounts and price-matching.

Enjoy!

  • To be a "new" customer you just have to sign up with a email address you haven't used before?

    • +5

Yep! For Nord VPN. Nothing to do with your CR account.

  • So what is the dollar amount I will be paying after cashback? I have seen this offer before and never fully understand it and get further confused by the Us dollar on their website.

  • +2

I paid 126.50 AUD after paying whatever the USD price was. I got 114.27 cash back so costs ~12. Make sure you use a bank that rebates or does not charge international fees otherwise your bank will charge ~3 for the transaction. Also select USD postcode when paying via Nord so you don't pay gst was the advise I followed.

    • For a year?

    • +8

Just choose Norfolk Island as the country - you pay no GST and get billed in AUD. The cashback is reported in USD to CR.

      • +1

        Paid 138.45AUD.
i wish i read this earlier. I guess with 98% CB it is all good

      • +3

Lol, nice. I chose 🎄 Christmas Island—less distance to scroll—also bills in AUD.
Don't get tricked like me. I thought the price at checkout was in AUD and was surprised when billed $125.86 instead of $81.36.

If Nord can bill in AUD, why not show the checkout price in AUD? I would feel duped if I wasn't getting 98% back.

      • Next time thanks

I took up this offer last time it was posted. Refund process went smoothly and the VPN works pretty well. Nord doesn't have port forwarding so torrent connections don't work as well as PrivateInternetAccess, but on the plus side I've found the Nord servers to be more reliable.

    • I use socks5 on individual client setting. seem to work ok, how do you use yours ? Just interested in how other people use vpn for torrent. I use to have an openVPN docker container but that just another thing to maintain.

      • +1

I use the transmission-openvpn docker image on my docker server, then use transmission remote gui on my (main) windows pc. Then I don't have to faff around bringing up and down a vpn on my windows machine (although I gotta admit the speeds that Nordvpn gets are pretty good).
I don't bother seeding (realistically you aren't going to get a decent ratio unless you're running a fulltime seedbox anyway), so port forwarding never bothered me.

        • Port forwarding helps you connect to more other clients, both seeds and peers. It doesn't matter on very popular torrents that have many seeders, but if you're trying to download something with only a handful of seeders there's a chance you won't be able to connect to any of them.

        • +1

          poor excuse to not seed

      • Just through Nord Lynx and their P2P-specific VPN connection. It's the way Nord say to set it up (S5 proxy unnecessary, but an option for those who don't set up the software client).

The issue is that you're never visible to other clients through a specific port, so you can only connect to some clients. Port forwarding fixes this, but is a security issue.

    • 2nd this, it's not a big deal if you're only downloading but if you're uploading you'll be lucky to get a few kB/s.

  • Do these guys ever discount for existing customers?

    • Usually near the end of your term they sends marketing emails about discount for renewal (if you subscribe) or when log into renewal page they have discounts there. But usually not as good as these deals.

    • +1

It hardly matters when they (apparently) just define new customers by email. Roll yourself a new email and you're good to go for another round…

    • +2

I think they offer some retention deals, but it's never 98% off like the cashbacks so I never bother. I just take up one of these just before my renewal comes up and log in to the new account.

      • This. Use a Gmail account, then every time you register a new account with NordVPN just put a . somewhere randomly in your email username - this is a handy Gmail trick, as Gmail recognises any email prefix with dots the same as without (e.g. user.name@gmail is the same as username@gmail, user.n.a.m.e@gmail, [email protected]).

    • In Nord for iPhone, under Profile, there's an option to renew with a 16% discount, lol.

I was wondering the same thing, too! However, I found out today.
I had previously subscribed on iPhone and turned off auto-renew, with my sub ending in March this year.

  • Good timing as my three year PIA plan that was 100% cashback is expiring soon.

How long is this plan people are grabbing here? Looks to be two year? Going for standard plan?

There’s a Plus plan too. Not sure necessary.

    • just be careful… a recent VPN deal was for the basic plan only and a couple people got stung with no cashback.

Cashback is ineligible on the following:

Upsold products such as NordPass & NordLocker.

  • So I presume this can be combined with the 65% off + 3 months coupon that's listed on CR?

    • Any luck? I can't figure out how to apply it.

      • No luck. I went ahead with the purchase anyways and might contact their support to try and get the extra 3 months.

  • +3

0% VAT, charged $125.86, tracked by CR $115.67

    • +1

      Same

  • Thank you very much for the post OP, good deal!
Once purchased, do you need to activate straight away or can you wait some months? My current plan does not end for some time

  • NordVPN: Sales tax 0% - A$0.00 Total: A$125.86/2 years
    CR: AUD 115.67

  • Anyone knows if it works with netflix?

    • +1

Yeah, NordVPN works with US Netflix. Source: I was streaming it on Google TV this morning.

But warning: It can be hit-or-miss. I had to try several different US locations before Netflix even buffered.
Netflix seems to really begrudge NordVPN, too, since they've even blocked speed tests on Fast.com (https://www.fast.com)

I personally prefer Windscribe or ExpressVPN.

      • Use their smart dns, will work with US Netflix. Activate it on the website.

        • Hey, thanks this is a great idea! Will try when I get home 📺

  • Anyone know if this offer from the CashRewards page is able to be applied?
    DISCOUNT
    Now 65% off + 3 months extra

  • Hi all, I'm a first time user of any cashback service.
So I just purchased the deal with my Citibank card (no international fees), however, I just realised that they are closing my account (due to being bought out by NAB) on 23rd February.
Will this affect my cash back? Does the cash back amount go back to the original payment method or can I choose which of my cards the money goes to?
    Thanks in advance!

    • Won't impact your cashback… any cashback you receive accumulates to your CR account - you can then withdraw it to whichever bank account you want when you want (or I believe spend it on other things - can't remember, been a while since I did it… I just transfer it out periodically).

  • I had a NordVPN subscription signed up via ShopBack but didn't get the cashback tracking, so i cancelled it via live chat for a full refund under 30 days.

Note live chat is the superior refund option. If you go email, they'll strongly push their troubleshooting processes. Live chat does not do the same.

  • +2

It seems this deal is back again, it wasnt this arvo but just looked at the cashrewards page again and now it says 98% again with 5 days remaining.

  • Just signed up but haven't got the tracking email yet. How long should I wait?

  • I signed up but during payment my PC shut down but the payment went through, does that mean the cashback will not come ?

    • Got it tracked now
