How do you get a commercial account?

    • +3

Have a butchers old son, search is your friend.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/tggc_access

      • Which of those options are easiest to sign up through (and preferably free?)

        • You could become a real estate agent.

          • -2

@abs898: Thanks. I meant like, any work arounds to logging in without needing anything specific.

        • Unions in general I believe.
Professionals Australia is a good one if you can join them, every year they do a salary report that is a very good source of information to understand how well you are paid and if you should start bargaining for a better deal.

Got mine through CPSU, well worth it

  • +2

Been using the phone since I snagged it from the previous deal, the charging speed with the included charger is absolutely incredible and battery life is good too. The only caveat I've found is that the phone gets very hot while doing demanding tasks.

    • +1

      Get's a solid review
But I'm curious about what case you use. I've had one phone with a curved screen, and it cracked within a few months, from a bump, despite having a quality case on it. $500 down the toilet.

      • The default one it came with, I've dropped it accidentally from about a metre onto cement multiple times and the screen has no cracks somehow

  • +5

    Wish it had esim

    • +1

Could you inform me on the benefits of e-sim? (I could search online but most articles sell you the thing rather than inform you and I assume you would be less biased)

      • +6

Useful overseas. You can buy and activate online without having to find a physiclal sim.

        • Would have never thought of that. Actually quite useful. Cheers!

    • Same here. I need a phone with esim for overseas travel. It's a must have feature for my next phone

      • +1

You can get local sim at airports usually, depends where you go. You can also get sims delivered to your prior to travel.

    • +3
  • While it's very cheap, didn't this get released in sep 2022? Meaning security update only goes till next year probably?

    • +1

Almost 2 more years of security updates

  • This or G54 5G?

    • +5

If you want e-sim, expandable storage via micro-sd card and 3.5mm audio jack then G54.

      • +1

Offering 8K recording and a fixed 128GB storage is a bit of a joke.

    • G54

    • +1

Don't buy the G54 when the G84 exists - it adds OLED, more storage, and more RAM.

      • +2

Adds $150 too, but I take you point.

    • +2

G54, if you're like me and aren't very delicate with phones, you won't want to get a phone with an edge screen. Plus, with the negligible differences in specs and being over $100 cheaper currently, I think the G54 is a no-brainer

      • +1

Benchmarks are double the performance for the Edge 30 Fusion. It’s totally a different class phone. In terms of performance the G54 is not even up to Galaxy s10 performance level. Amazing value for a $200 phone, but it’s barely a midrange phone. Edge 30 Fusion is in the value flagship category.

  • +3

    Great phone, very snappy!

Just don't follow my stupidity by removing the screen protector already installed on the phone.
I'm still yet to find a glass screen protector for the curved screen that doesn't create air bubbles on the sides

    • +3

The installed “screen protector” is just a layer of soft plastic. Mine only lasted like 2 weeks anyway, it’s very easily damaged.

      • +1

Any recommendations on a replacement screen protector?

        • +2

eBay is trash but AliExpress is really good for glass ones. Thicker than normal, comes with cleaning clothes, dust remover and glue. Never get bubbles but can't vouch for this phone.

I actually layered it over the factory plastic screen protector on my wife's mi10t

I just got this and it feels pretty solid, no bubbles.

    • glass protectors are generally no good for curved screen, gel ones work better

  • So this is targeted or what? Will jbhifi match this can someone post screen shot so can show them

  • Is this phone better than G54 I'm looking at the specs not much difference .

So TGG just register any account and just buy directly seems to easy and straight forward thanks op

  • This or pixel 7?

    • Pixel , at least you'll have software support for a couple of years !
Apparently it should get Android 16 from what I just looked up ….

      • the android 16 on pixel 7, is that from Google or an influencer? One of the reasons i’m looking at pixel 8 is that google is going more than 3 years on the pixel 8.

        • Isn't the pixel eight getting at least five major android updates ?
I know its more than samsung offerings , and thats good !

        • Pixel 7 will get Android version updates until 2025 (Android 16) and security updates for 5 years (until 2027). Pixel 8 will get 7 years of android version updates (2030)
          Pixel update schedule

    • +1

This, screen is better at 144hz, pixel only 90hz

      • +1

90Hz is absolutely fine though, that's a pretty niche metric to choose a phone by 😁

  • How's the camera on this phone?

    • +1

I’m happy with it, it’s certainly a lot better than my previous oppo and my daughter’s edge 30 neo. Low light is average but that’s true of any phone camera at this price point. Zoom is good and every regular photo is awesome.

      • +1

        Perfect.

So, during daytime, if you take a standard photo of something, or do a short video, it still looks clear?

Just noticed too many Motorola phones are amazing, but don't take good looking photos / videos..

        • +1

Absolutely, I'm very happy with it.

          • @seanbaussie: Thanks..

Looked to buy it, and it's already out of stock hahaha.

            Oh well.

  • +3

I'd buy this if it had more storage or expandable storage. Deal breaker for me…

  • I’ve been looking for a high spec snapdragon phone since getting a cheap gamesir g8. This is perfect

  • How many years of Android upgrade can we expect on this phone ?

    • +1

2 OS updates on top of what was shipped on release .. so android 14, and security patches ontop of that , buy te time support is finished you might get a new phone because battery is now a few years old. With pixel 8 google is going longer support to try and close gap with apple and IOS longevity, but android phones drop in price so quick might be cheaper to get new phone than new battery in a pixel after 4 years.

  • -7

    I don't get it.
Do I have to watch a The Good Guys Commercial to get the price?
I looked everywhere, even rang TGG and they laughed at me.
I reported them to the comedy police.

  • +3

No expandable storage is the main reason I'm not buying now…

    128gb just ain't enough

  • +1

Had this phone for nearly 3 months now. Much lighter and slimmer than Pixel 7, can take closeup photos, screen protector is still intact but battery needs recharged daily.

  • In the description it says:

This Motorola mobile phone has 4G connectivity, so you can enjoy fast Internet access.

But in the Tech Specs it also says:

    Network: 5G

Does this mean 5G will work? I'm confused.

Also, does this have Wireless Charging? Does anyone know?

    • +1

Has 5G and no wireless charging.

  • oh hell yeah
This is an awesome bang for buck deal, even if moto is a bit retarded sometimes with updates (mostly they are ok tho)
Still rocking my edge 30 neo and loving it

  • Anyone who ordered had their order shipped? Mine is still processing it says.

    • Hi
I ordered on Sunday at 10:50pm
      Delivered on Webesday at 10:50am

      • Hey thanks for the reply. Damn, my order went in on Sunday as well and a little earlier than yours. Holding on hope as it hasn't been cancelled yet but I have a feeling I won't get it!

How's the phone? Happy with it?

Edit: yep 8:19pm I received the email saying they received my order request!

        • ood so far
