Under Armour Micro G Valsetz Men's Boots - Black/Jet Gray - $94.42 Delivered @ Wild Earth

Price got jacked up :((((

Saw a lad in the comments of this asking if the black ones will be on discount for 80 bucks. The Rep said no however in my journey of reading the comments i was enticed into getting a pair. i dont have anything nice to pair with brown so I choose the black ones and got them for 100 (with express shipping mind you (i like to treat myself sometimes))

Anyway, i got an email (confirmed not targeted by the original guy asking for a discount and i just checked and it is still working) with the code sbove for 5 bucks off any purchase (in true ozb fashion I should cancel my order and reorder using the code to save myself five dollars however it feels honourable to spend the extra 5 as if it was a sacrifice I made for my fellow bargain hunters)

Good lad let me know that cashback was 5% so ended up being just under 90 bucks for him i don't use cash back (as my browser has trackers disabled which ruins the service)

Anyway, $94.42 with code, just under $90 with code and cashback (apparently)

Update thanks to the comments (idk how to link a comment): if you happen to have ebayplus from one of the many recent ebayplus sales check their eBay store and get them for $93.45!! (use code TOP6JAN)

(wanted to just put that going through ebay hurts any store (compared to direct) due to fees so only use if you would not purchase otherwise (as lower profit would be better than no profit) but this does beg the question will wild earth lower prices to disincentivise peolle going through ebay?? hmmm)

First post lmk if I did this right,
Cheers

  • Are these any good for Summer? Maybe if I wore a mankini?

    • +8

The previous post had people giving them thumbs up on comfort and function as an all day or hiking boot, so if you happen to wear a mankini while hiking or working as a cop then yes these will be good.

As for the summer part I believe these are mostly textile so should be very breathable (which is good for summer), though being a boot you may find them different to the usual summer attire such as barefoot, thongs, slides, sandals, low tops, etc

I find high boots like these a pain to put on, which is why I hardly wear my Doc Martens or Timberlands for daily wear. I do have a zip version of this model, however, and like it a lot. It's light, comfy, looks good and on in seconds. Water resistance is not a key consideration for me though.

These have speed hooks, shouldn't take you more than like 30 seconds to get ready. I wear boots everyday, just loosen the laces when you take them off, then the next day they're ready to go, slip your feet in and tighten.

Although it also depends how often you take off your shoes, usually if I'm going out I'm not gonna take them off til I get home, if I needed to put them on and off multiple times throughout the day it gets a little annoying.

  • Niceee.

Hoping there will be some 10.5's left by tomorrow when the rep gets back to me tomorrow morning about any cancellations/spares out back in the tan.. 😅

  • I think these look ugly, why do people like this look?

    • +1

Does it matter when you're on the treadmill of your local gym giving it your all? With glistening sweat running down your brow how will anyone ever be able to look down upon you because of your choice of shoes?

    • +3

If you need to wear tactical style boots for work, these are about as good looking and comfy as they get imo. Not sure why anyone would buy them for casual use though haha

  • Got it down to $79.42 delivered with ebay plus.

$20 voucher if you have ebay plus, not sure if targeted.

    • +1

Do you have an eBay link?

    • +2

Do you know what the voucher was? I found the link earlier but was only recommended the TOP6JAN so like, $6 off.

      • I just joined ebay plus again recently and got this email….

Here's to another year of exclusive savings & perks, starting now with two $20 vouchers.

    • +1

      Yep I got $20 0ff with ebay plus :-)
      nice work @Some Random Guy
Thanks for the hint about ebay plus @robboaustralia

  • How good they perform as work boots?

    • +3

I'm a paramedic, Ive had two pairs of the leather ones and they're super comfy but they wear very quickly. My police colleagues also love them as well

  • +1

haha, i was thinking someone should post the black ones with the $5 voucher

  • are these good for bushwalking?

    • If you are serious about bushwalking, always try them on if you can (or be prepared to pay for returns or whatever). Hiking shoes tend to be a bit stiffer than running/casual shoes, meaning that if they dont fit your feet that well its really noticeable. Some have narrow toe boxes, different positioning of the arch, etc. In any case, these will be fine for casual bushwalkng, if they fit well.

However you may find that low boots or probably even shoes are better when starting out.

Do some research on what good hiking boots require.
They need the strength to be able to support your full weight from under the toes.
They need rigidity to be able to not buckle in the middle when you bridge two large stones (Toe and heel on rocks with no centre support from the ground)
They need a heel with a lip so you can hook onto rocks as you move down a hill.

  • Is this steel cap?

    • +5

maybe, dunno, didn't read the description either

    • No

  • Would these be good for a bush doof? 🙄

  • I want these. but my leather converse work shoes are going strong. DO they go on sale often?

  • To any owners - how have you found the fit?
Half the reviews say 'True to Size' and the other half says 'Runs Large'.

    • +1

I think these are 'True to Size', I have a sz 10 and based on how the fit and compare to my other sneakers, they are true to size.

A couple of things to consider when you are looking at these:
      - these are tactical boots, very comfy for all day walking and support but if you need to go through some tough country, and are climbing and rock hopping, I don't think they are right.
      - they have decent grip, I used them in the snow and managed to walk without slipping unless you walk on ice
      - waterproof up to mid boot which is where the lining stops, this is decent height and also means slipping in and out of these boots very easy and quick as the tongue of boot opens up.
      - these are lightweight which is a big plus, I am flat footed and walking long distances is already painful enough without having heavy shoes to add to the pain, these are soft and flexible around the ankle and provides enough rigidity in the sole to support you on uneven terrain. I have worn them all day without foot pain.

      • Thanks so much for your in-depth reply, it helped a lot!

  • Re Adblock w Cashrewards. Can’t promise but works for me…. the site warns you that it might not track but $400 in my Cashrewards credit would say otherwise.
    Good luck

  • Guy at work (army guy too) told me these boots are extremely comfortable like sneakers but they do wear out quickly with heavy use. Well worth it at this price point though.

  • They look like they will last 5 mins. They scream to me that the soles will come off after a while.

I really love my LOWA Renegades, but the price is effing ridiculous.

Can find em sometimes for $250 if you're lucky.

  • TopCashBack tracked but was $0 cashback. I put in a claim but not expecting much after reading other people's problem with them.

Kind of new to using CB offers but have never had any major problems with the other 2 unlike TopCashBack. Multiple eBay purchases not tracking, the one eBay that tracked was a $160 purchase that tracked as $6 with 15 cents cashback.
