Best Cases for Google Pixel 8 Pro

Wanted to know which phone cases my fellow P8P owners are using.

I had a dbrand case for my P6 but now their case is for like $85 which feels way too expensive.

I drop my phone once or twice every few months so looking for a rugged case (as I think the TPU cases go yellow and don't provide a lot of protection to the screen)

Spigen, Torras, Bellroy, CASETiFY (before they ripped off dbrand and JerryRigEverything) and the official Google ones. Oh and a JeTech one I stuck a MagSafe Ring too high on

    • Which one did you get and what's your experience been so far?

All of them … each one has its pros and cons. I mainly use the official Google one as my daily one (one in Bay and one in Charcoal)

        • I didn't know people change their cases that much!
Also screw Castify I hated that they copied Dbrand so blatantly!

Pixel 6 Pro here but I use the peak design case - survived fine with a couple of drops

Peak Design 100% the way to go

    • I agree with Peak Design. I've got a PD loop case for my P8P and love the loop for my finger.

Another vote for Peak Design - expensive but great.

  • The cheapest silicone one off ebay, $10 goes a long way. I love the clear one to show off the beautiful Bay blue :)

    • Haha aren't you scared of breaking your screen? I've broken every Pixel I've bought so far

      • I haven't broken any yet (possibly on my fourth pixel now - just can't remember that far back).

I really love the silicone ones. The edges are well protected, and the camera is too. I don't want to thick a case either, it is a tradeoff between protection and size for me and size wins.

My previous case for Pixel 7 was a deep purple cheapie from Amazon for $11. It was really well made and offered extra cushion at the rear. The only issue was the colour stated to wear off at the end.

My vote is for Mous all the way, most of their cases come with Magsafe built in and the drop protection is impeccable

Are you talking about their Limitless series?

Yes, they're really good. have had one on my 13 pro for the last yr, handled a bunch of drops onto concrete just fine.
have a feeling the phone that fell out of that alaska airlines plane was wearing a mous case too cos it looks similar to mine

It was actually a Spigen Cyro Armor case

      • Yeah limitless and the basic one with Magsafe too, kinda like the Google cases

  • I use one of these for my Pixel 6a and they have an 8 pro version. Mine is red. These are great cases but the added size makes using my phone painful. I go naked now.

  • I bought this when I got my Pixel 8 PRO, I was going to get something better later, but I was actually surprised at it's quality, so I kept using it.

  • Spigen customer for my last 3 phones… Previously had the Tough Armour case and was pretty rough with it in the field and dropped it constantly with zero problems. The kick stand is also handy. My daily is now the liquid air case which i kinda prefer as its a bit thinner and has great grip in hand. Both are about the $30 from a quick search

Went for Nano Pop! Looks good and it's super secure!

  • I would use the Pixel 8 Pro, with the case from the Samsung Note 9, inside the Razer JungleCat.

You can take off the joycons, put them together, and slide them into a single pocket. The phone goes in a different pocket. Suddenly you have a pocketable gaming console, one that is like a Modern Gameboy. The controller layout is optimal for 3D Gaming so you can do Local Game Streaming, or Long-Distance Cloud Gaming, run many Android Apps, or a plethora of Emulation. I believe it's a more compact solution than carrying say, an iPhone 13 Mini and a Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. But that combination does have better battery life, and allows you to separate business from entertainment, which is more intuitive and security conscious. But if you had something else like the Miyoo Mini or a hacked PS Vita Slim, well then, the Razer JungleCat would be a superior option overall.

PS: for anyone interested that case also works with the Samsung S24+ or maybe Xiaomi 14 Pro. These units have the QC 8g3 chipset which has much better Signal Reception, better Efficiency, Custom Drivers, and Better Support when it comes to Emulation. However, where I give the edge to the Pixel 8 Pro is due to Custom ROMs. You can have anywhere from root, to EvolutionX, to GrapheneOS installed. And in this era, where Google is being evil with their platform, having software options is getting increasingly important. You can tell how peeved I have been.
