  • damn it. i just spent $250 just last month.

enter that maze again and you'll find more reasons to spend another $250

      • +7

        that's what i'm afraid of… lol.
i feel like the poor cousin of pacman… dropping money as i go through the maze instead of picking them up.

      • I don't think it's that easy, after you've torn out the labels, unpacked them, threw away the packaging and used them.

It's not like I had the foresight to know this offer is coming that i wouldn't have done all those things.

  • You really need to specify which states this applies to in the title. Thanks

  • +2

Not applicable to WA/SA stores as usual?

  • +1

Sweet, was going to buy a sofa this week but it can wait til next :)

  • Very nice. Thanks!

  • Great! Thanks OP! Question as above. Where can we see the details?

  • +5

that's a lot of meatballs. but I can do it…

    • +2

Excluded from this offer are purchases of IKEA Gift Cards (purchased in store or online) and items
purchased from the IKEA Restaurant, Swedish Food Market and Bistro. ;)

      • +1

It's alright, I'll sell you some. Although I'm looking for a little over $250 for the pair.

  • +2

    what does this T&C mean?

"Please note - the gift card/s received as part of this promotion
cannot be used to make up amounts in this promotional offer on current or future visits."

I'm guessing they meant within the promotion period.

    • +10

I think it means you can't spend $275 by paying only $250 then use the $25 from the gift card you would receive. You need to pay for your purchase, then you will receive your gift card for use on future purchases. Similarly, you can't use your free gift card the next time around by spending only $225 cash to make up $250.

i read somewhere that ikea prices in australia is VERY VERY expensive compare with Ikea in other countries. for the exact same product ofcourse. maybe also on today tonight, cant remember

    • +3

Even Western Australia is significantly cheaper than the Eastern states. The poor buggers pay more for a lot of other items, so we can't hold it against them though.

I'm thinking it must be coming up to 'eat your discount' time too.

    • +4

A current affair. Everything is more expensive in Australia than in USA anyway.

      • +1

        YES! specially car price

        • Even cars made in Australia!

    • I was comparing some items between the USA and Australia, and yes, we are generally more expensive. It's possible to find some items more expensive in the USA (KIVIK 2 seat sofa in red) than here however.

When comparing IKEAs between various countries it's also important to note the income level of that nation. I recall reading that Poland had the cheapest IKEA range on average, and Australia the most expensive. However the average income level of a Polish citizen is 1/3 that of the average Australian.

      • Yep that's fine they can screw us because we can afford it.

        • +2

nope its because retail workers get $15-$25 an hour here.

  • No love for WA I see :( And I just spent $500 on them last week! shakes fist

  • That will pay for lunch ;)

  • Awesome, this gives me the perfect excuse to see that cute girl that works on the register, and say "yes please" to her when she asks if I'd like a bag.

  • Was going to buy a new bed this Friday. It can now wait! Thank you!

  • Do you get the gift card immediately on the spot? Or will it be posted out to you?

  • I got a gift card today.
It's immediate, you get the gift card at the register after all your items are scanned.
