I managed to get the S24 for $714 on the Samsung Shop App instead of $786.00 through the Samsung website

Here is my S24 order

  • S24 Orange
  • Free Samsung Care: 1 year
  • Samsung S21 trade in $-270
  • Samsung bonus trade in credit $-350
  • Clear Case
  • Battery Pack
  • Galaxy Buds FE

Code used: GALAXYAI

Total Payable: $714.20

Pick up from my local Samsung store at checkout.

Few notes:
1 - Must have a Samsung account, create one here. Samsung accounts with no orders, I had my Samsung account for over 4+ years, never purchased anything on the app.
2 - At checkout if your suburb and state is not selectable, go back and check out again and enter your postcode once. There is a bug if you enter the postcode wrong then re-enter it, your state and suburb won't show and you won't be able to check out
3 - This is my experience, your experience may differ and I can not comment on any further codes or discounts, but this worked for me
4 - Must be done through the app
5 - Trade in customers - samsung will charge your card as a security deposit the same amount of the trade in price. In this case, samsung took $270 as a security deposit
6 - As from 18 January 1:12pm AEST, Samsung chat is closing all chat, I have waited over 2 hours, twice and Samsung chat is closing all chats, I don't know if there is a loyalty code to stack. If you can get through to chat and get a code, it may stack.

  • m ordering via defence email (gov.au). I am not receiving OTP emails from check out page (asurion), entered IMEI numbers of trade in devices, next page the OTP is sent to gov email. Since 5 days, i have spoken with samsung chat, calls, emails. There is no resolution.

The trade up app only gives in store trade in ID's only. Any ideas how to get OTP to defence gov email

Have you tried contacting support of the defence email? The problem might lie with them instead of Samsung or Asurion.

      • Yes you may be 99 percent right. I have sent an email to the dept. However, asurion should allow to get trade in codes from trade up app. app only gives in store codes and are not valid online

        • I assume Asurion stopped online codes because people were abusing the system. If you use the app, you still need the OTP emails anyway so i dont think the app makes any difference to you.

          • @8azinga: Not sure about that coz for trade in to happen user should submit driving licence etc

        • You're right, the trade in app code is only Applicable to instore.

When you trade in online, and you go through the check out process, you will go through the trade up process online and are asked the same questions like the app.

          • @hasher22: Exactly thats what i did, entered the IMEI numbers and next page is OTP page. I cant go past that without OTP

            • +1

@Mighty man: Yeah your gov.au email server may be blocking that email. Best to contact your IT guy and see if he can push it though but I forgot the expiry of the OTP

              • @hasher22: i have sent the email to ict informing about the situation. Normal samsung emails are fine, only OTP from asurion is blocked

              • @hasher22: 5 minutes expiry.

                • @8azinga: Irrelevant of OTP expiry, OTP emails should be allowed blanket, anyway i have informed the IT dept for a possible whitelisting asurion.

                  • @Mighty man: Can't you just sign into your samsung account with defence email but in checkout, put a gmail/hotmail in the details so the OTP gets sent there?
I'm dont know enough about IT systems but maybe there isnt a way to allow OTP but block other emails from providers. If there was, someone who might want to do harm could just send fake OTP emails so they get through the blocks and hope someone clicks attachments or links. Defence department also might not have seen any reason to allow emails from Asurion as they may not have been aware of the trade in program.

                    • @8azinga: in the checkout, or before ordering pages, there is no option to add email. In the profile, i have added my gmail however, in the final OTP asurion page, the email defaults to defence email and there is no option to verify or receive OTP via mobile or other email.

  • How do I get an edu email?

    • Great score!

I am still waiting to get an EDU email address to buy.

  • 3 days ago I could get a bunch of accessories free with a trade in and now that option has gone!

    What gives?!

    • The $150 instant evoucher for accessories is still showing for me.
You dont need to have a trade in to get it though.

  • -1

Just wanna make sure I understand this 100%.

So if my TOTAL is $614 and my trade in value is $605, I will have the security deposit of $605 taken AND the charge of $614? Or is it the $605 plus $9 to take it to $614?

Yes I’m blonde I’m sorry haha

  • Asurion = Total Scammer !! just been burnt to the tune of $180 for 3 x $60 late fees even though Auspost tracking says delivered. They have now lost one device. Said a working phone is not a working phone. Do not provide downloadable pictures. Do not respond to requests for information. Do not respond to Samsung's requests for information. They have deleted a conversation response where they stated they would not charge a late fee and then charged $120. We got a screen shot of that before it disappeared!!

    Wish I'd read these reviews

Do yourself a favour and do not deal with them.

ACA here I come, a class action would be good idea.
