Bare in mind with SparesBox it is a lucky dip, you may get an item sent in a day, or it may be sent in three weeks, some reviews show customers waiting two months before an item was sent.

If you need it semi-urgent, buy local, or more liable places like Supercheap, etc.

    • Shonky as business practise. I wont buy from them again, after waiting 2+ weeks for an item that was marked in stock i asked to cancel order they then magically posted it..

      • wow…that's interesting.

Had you canceled it, you'd get a refund of your money, right ?

        • Yeah for sure but its just annoying you buy something and expect it to be posted

They have listings for items and don't say if they are out of stock

Other businesses will temporarily take down listing or mark out of stock, its not hard they just want to get people to buy and not be bothered to cancel

          • @BenTheBargainer2013: I understand your point.
I assumed when something is not 'out of stock',
then they would have the item.
So, I'll wait to see what happens.

Something like this happened with Peters of Kensington on eBay.
There's an item that is popular and sold out very quickly on eBay,
            but when I went to a Peters store, there's stock in-store;
just no stock online and they won't replenish them,
            even after 2-months.

I 'had to' buy from SparesBox last night,
because SuperCheap Auto's eBay page is "on vacation".

SuperCheap is having their own catalogue sale,
so they probably prefer people buying directly from them,
and I did that (because there were items
that were the same price as Amazon, and I preferred to buy locally.)

      • Similar experience. Waited forever for an item, sent them an email about it and it was magically sent that day.

      • Whatever I bought (clay bars, tyre shine, clay lubricant, iron decontaminant),
at the time I posted this deal, has arrived to me now.

I haven't had a bad experience with Sparesbox (yet!),
but I don't buy regularly from them, either.

    • Good points.
      I bought from SparesBox before,
and my experience was kind of normal.

I bought some stuff from SuperCheap last evening,
      but also some from SparesBox
because they had other stuff on decent discount,
and if I get it in 2+ weeks, I'm fine with that.

Great, now I have some windscreen additive I never really needed and some claybars I had on watch for a couple months now.. 😅 Think I missed it around BF/pre-Christmas sales at around the $20 mark and thought that was a bargain for 3 claybars but forgot to pounce!

I got the Trico about 3 or 4 years ago, I'm loving it.
I put it in my dad's car too.

And I also picked up some claybars [Meguiars] from SparesBox,
to see if I can apply what I've researched about them so far,
and then put some nice wax on the car, against this summer sun.

I tried using Claybar in my teens but gave up because short attention span/intended results ratio never aligned.. 😅 Any tips? 😝

Also, what wax are you planning on using? Something resin based? Heard does well.

If you don't have the patience for claybar,
          there's Mothers Speed Clay - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01MPYDYWT

With the "Speed Clay" will save time and effort for large, flat panels of your car.
For the more delicate and tighter spots, claybar is supposedly better.

You can use claybar lubricant like Mothers Instant Detailer
or Bowden's Three Way or Autoglym Magma.

As for waxing, I'm using liquid silicone-based wax.
I just spray on a microfibre cloth, and just wipe down the car with it.
You get the shine, sheen, UV protection and some water-beading.

I guess I should not have called that 'waxing' per se,
and it's not as good as waxing (manually or with a polishing machine),
but if you don't want to spend time with waxing or claybaring,
then these are some 'short cuts' to getting a car looking good :-)

          • @whyisave: Woah, I had heard of that but didn't realise it was soo pricey!

I picked up a Bowdens Own Claying Rubber pad a few weeks ago that I'm yet to try out.

I'll have to double check what waxes I have ready to go. All I remember is a LOT of ceramic sprays..

I don't have the cojones yet to buy a polisher and attenpt to learn unfortuntely.. 😪 I have a white Aurion which I assume would be hard to fcuk up anyway but I'm still a little scared..

I got the Mothers Speed Clay when it was much cheaper
as posted here, back in November 2023.

              • @whyisave: Oh woah, I think I rememeber seeing that pop up too around BF sales! Very good price for what they're at now!

  • Thanks

Oil and filter delivered free, cheaper than bricks and mortar. Regular go to.

The prices are competitive… But I find it odd that they've been shipping items separately even though they're from the same order! Received two deliveries for three items yesterday, but still waiting for the other 4 items.
