Stupid question, how the hell do I know which items are eligible? I hate these promotions. It like a blackbox.

    • +1

they should have a link to eligibility.
OP has omitted the actual page and gone directly to TnC

I'm all for free enterprise but when 1 company seems to benefit solely from these sales. eg Belfield Music.
I am not into the whole monopoly of eBay and how some get preferred treatment over other sellers.
These prices are jacked as other seller's are, one can only question how these kickbacks result in higher nets for these sellers over others?

Pioneer DJ Toraiz AS-1 currently on offer for $1012 minus 17% max = AU $840.78
Thing is another store 2 weeks ago had this for sale @ $589?
Why is it always that the most expensive gear is on offer in these sales?

It's a whole bunch o bullshit imo which is a humble fact.

    • Can I interest you in an access point? How about an SSD? Use code to get $300 off their slightly jacked up price.

      • If, and that's a big "IF", if I buy all 4 remaining, can I get a further 1% discount?

  • is it active now ? I cant apply it to an ebay plus item ???

  • Razer Orochi V2 $57. I have been on the sideline for a while.

  • Trash tech deals all around. It's pretty disappointing to see Computer Alliance turn into the likes of sydneytec & futuonline—they used to be the only computer store with amazing value with these types of deals. They're all a bunch of price jackers now.

    • I think it's eBay "fake" promo by passing all the fees to the vendors. Would love to know how many % eBay charges sellers. Wouldn't be small I guess. 15-17%??

      • +5

The coupon master agreement is 12% seller funding rate. I'm seller/business. It eats into my margin big, along with the push of free postage when customers don't realise the cost of consignment. As a seller you simply have to add this into the price just to make any margin. Most of my 800 items are under $50, but I try my best to pass on whatever savings even under these ebay deals I can. Inflation is everywhere in this game.

Sellers can opt-in via an ebay email so I guess alot of larger businesses use this as a marketing opportunity and raise prices before these events?

Note next 15/17% is 8th February to 21 March for those who want to know.

  • I have a 2017 hyundai sonata, how can i know if this fits and where can i get it fitted? Thank you

For all of those worried about price jacking - I received an interesting email from eBay today that contains some important changes :)

We’re making some important changes to our Coupon Master Agreements. The changes will take effect from 16 January 2024.

    What’s changed
Clause 7 of the master terms has recently been revised.

As of 16 January 2024, clause 7 will now read as follows:

    1. You shall not increase the listing price of any of the Included Items and/or items within the Included Categories for a period of at least ten (10) days prior to the start of each Offer Period, or at any time during the Offer Period. You warrant that at no time prior to or during the Offer Period will you increase the listing price for any item so as to make the Coupon Offer/s appear more attractive. You agree to act in good faith at all times in connection with the Coupon Offer/s.

    Next steps
Please take the time to carefully read any future Coupon Master Agreements.

Please also take note that eBay will be monitoring compliance with the Coupon Master Agreement terms and reserves the right to rely on these terms in relation to sellers who are found to be in breach of the Coupon Master Agreement terms. This may include, for example, your removal from the promotion at any time, and/or recouping eBay’s co-funding contribution from you.

If you have any questions about these changes or need to get in touch, please contact [email protected]

Thanks for being part of the eBay community.

    Regards,
    eBay
