Love Suzuki and the dr but this thing needs a refresh.

They're a decent bike but yeh, a bit dated and agricultural… No doubt if they did update them they'd end up a bit porky like the Hondas, lol

When I was shopping for a bike back in 2014 to use for desert crossings and remote travel I seriously considered a DRZ, but with them being carb the fuel usage varies a lot, they tend to be pretty juicy in soft sand and the likes.. I ended up going with a WRR, good consistent fuel economy thanks to the fuel injection… 75,000km later, mainly offroad, and she's still going strong…

I find it really hard to fathom paying nearly $11k for a 25 year old dirt bike that can be had for easily half that price on the second hand market in good condition, often with accessories and upgrades. They're a great bike for learners or people who want to ride casually and irregularly, but there's a reason a lot of people buy them and then move them on after a year or 2, often without many KMs done in the meantime.

This is coming from someone who owns a reasonably comparable bike that I bought for less than $2000 before covid.

      100% agree

I am sure this was a lot less prior and even with the general price increases across the board I feel this bike has lost a bit of value for money as it was already commanding a high price for what it is.

On the other hand it is one of the top bikes to learn on; for those considering motorcycling and have no prior experience it will grown with your skill set whereas something like a cruiser may foster bad habits.
