Alright.

Got these MAGGI 2 Minute Noodles, Chicken flavor – the go-to snack for people who can't be bothered with culinary masterpieces. Cheaper with the subscribe and save feature – because apparently, we're now subscribing to noodles. I just want a snack, not a magazine.

They're calling it a fun and tasty snack or a quick light meal. Fun? It's noodles, not a clown at a birthday party. Tasty? I just want it to not taste like cardboard. Quick light meal? It's not a Michelin-star dinner; it's noodles from a packet.

Chicken flavor is the most popular – as if we're conducting a popularity contest with noodles. I just want something that doesn't taste like feet.

It's delicious and ready in an instant – well, that's the point, isn't it? If it took longer, I'd be cooking something proper. I just want my noodles without the suspense.

Made with 100 percent Aussie wheat – like I'm doing a wheat tasting session. It's noodles, not a loaf of bread. I just want them to slide down my throat without questioning their origins.

Great for lunch or as a light meal – they're not reinventing the wheel here. It's noodles. I just want something that doesn't require a Michelin Guide to enjoy.

In summary, if you're into noodles that won't break the bank and are as basic as it gets, these MAGGI 2 Minute Noodles might be your culinary soulmate. As for me, I just want a snack, not a noodle subscription service. Keep it simple, mate.

Alright, so, Maggi Chicken Noodles, yeah? I mean, it's just a bit of noodle business, innit? I don't get what all the fuss is about, to be honest. People act like it's some culinary masterpiece, but it's just noodles and a bit of chicken flavoring.

First off, the smell hits you when you rip open that packet. It's like a chicken factory exploded in your face. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, but it's certainly an experience. The noodles, well, they're noodles, what can I say? They're not exactly gourmet, but they do the job.

Now, the flavor, or so they call it. It's chicken-flavored, apparently. I mean, I've never tasted chicken that tastes like this. It's like a distant cousin of chicken, like chicken's weird sibling. It's not bad, but it's not exactly a taste explosion. It's like the noodles are trying to be something they're not.

The whole process of making these noodles is a bit of a faff, too. Boiling water, waiting for the noodles to soften up, stirring this, stirring that. I'm not a Michelin-star chef, I just want something quick and easy, you know?

I suppose if you're stuck on a deserted island or in a post-apocalyptic world, Maggi Chicken Noodles could be a lifesaver. But in the real world, with all the food options out there, it's just a decent snack. It won't change your life, and I doubt Gordon Ramsay's losing sleep over it.

When we moved to Aust back in 2001, i used to love that beef flavour they had. Had it a few years ago and spat it out, I cant differentiate it from the 'chicken' flavour anymore. Anyway I've found the Westernised Maggis to taste awful. If you want the real Maggi, go to an Asian shop and get the Kari/Tomyum/Asam Laksa and its way better. Kari (Curry) is still my favourite for 30 years.u

    • +2

This issue is about 15 years ago the Aussie Maggi reduced the salt and the fat content.
      Now It is bland asf
My current supermarket favourite is Nissin Kyushu black noodles

      • Makes sense as to why the Aussie chicken version tasted so bad when I tried it a few years ago. I just use the noodles itself and make a sauce to go with it for dinner.

Haven't tried black, is it garlic based? I still have heaps of the nissin Hokkaido miso when Amazon warehouse had its clearance ages ago haha. Haven't had a chance to try the other ramens

      • Yep. They also took out MSG at that time I'm pretty sure. I haven't touched Maggi noodles since I tried the reformulated recipe all those years ago. Not even palatable to me and I used to LOVE them.

The best chicken and beef ones are Fantastic bowls (cups are a different recipe) now, in my opinion.

I still remember the first time my grandma made me and my siblings 2 min noodles 30+ years ago and added eggs in to the cooked noodles to make this delicious scrambled eggs noodle magic. It was truely mind blowing and game changing. Suddenly an after school snack with some substance.

      • Step one; put your noodle in a box

    • Better than a government stimulus

  • Anyone chuck some raw eggs in with the boiling water or is that better to do with a different flavour?

    • +1

Lived off that with these noodles for over 20 years 👍

    • +2

You can. You will need to work out the age old problem of which goes first: the chicken (flavouring) or the egg…..

  • Woolworths have them for $2.50 for 5. A fraction more but maybe an option if your not after 30 packets. Also have different flavours.
    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/343890?goo…

Without this wont be viable if your boycotting Woolworths this Australia Day season.

    • A fraction more!!!
      Ten percent :-p

Yep and samboy tomato potato chips too

I’d kill for a pack of tomato maggi noodles
They were my ultimate. I tried a few years back to find some but came up stumps.

Found a packet in my nan's cupboard circa 2013, and was very excited to cook them. Checked use by and it was 2001…flavour had lost a bit of its zing by then

  • AGI is here and is posting bargains

  • Same price per 5pk as WW except for the extra 10% member S&S

    • Was going to say. May be less inconvenient to buy the 5 pack unless you’re a prepper.

  • How much do they charge to cook in house?

  • +3

Aldi ones are always cheaper and they have more flavour/msg (especially after they changed maggi flavour multiple times to what crap it is now)

  • S&S not working any more. Price changes to $15 at check out.

The Malaysian version of these you get from Asian shops are way better. Maggi Ayam.

    • More of the Malaysian taste? Same as Mama Thai noodle

      • They don't have a Malaysian taste, they just have flavour like the Aussie version used to. I think they reduced the salt in the Aussie version many years back and they've never been as good since.

    • +1

Kari has been my go to flavour for the past 30 years, sometimes add more curry powder, but eggs is a must

      • They're great also

All deal posts are from Amazon because I'm using the Popular/Top Drops pages from Camel3:

      https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/popular

I'm finding deals and posting them, using AI to make the descriptions less boring based on a real person, Karl Piklngton. I'm not botting in the comments, I'm not using multiple accounts. I'm just having a bit of fun whilst simultaneously trying to contribute to the site and give myself something to distract me because my brother in law died last weekend.

I think you need to lighten up a little and stop assuming the worst in people.

    • +4

Why do you care what Karl does?
The very 1st bargain you tried to post was SPAM, move on, stop complaining, you're more depressing than the real Karl Pilkington.

      • +1

        Cheers

        • +1

You do care, you negged the deal, your very 1st deal was SPAM, then I assume you're the one that reported this deal.
49 people found this deal helpful including me, you on the other hand have gone on to complain.
So in other words, he is being helpful and you, nothing positive.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: No one is taking this personally other than you, you keep being passive aggressive but only come off as desperate.
Keep deflecting, you've already been called out but somehow try to deflect.

I do care about manipulative posts

You mean like your SPAM or one that tried to paint Karl in bad light?
              Uh ok.

                • +1

@[Deactivated]: Ignorance is bliss, oh oh I never knew.
Yet here is Karl doing stuff for the community and not breaking any rules, but you did.
                  That's richly ironic.
I hope every time you eat/see/hear noodles, you think of Karl.

                    • +1

@[Deactivated]: You can't reason with logic because 49 people agree with what Karl posted, you on the other hand have gone out of your way to try to paint him as some sort of demonic creature that is trying to capture your soul with noodles(see I can exaggerate to fluff my own narrative too).

                        • @[Deactivated]: No idea what you're on about, never knew 2 minute noodles could upset someone so much.
I bet that's going to work out well for you in life.

                            • @[Deactivated]: Why are you continually asking me for?
It appears because I am the only one bothered replying to you (this is my last reply because we get how jaded you are by oodles and oodles of noodles), the cenus is clear, 49 people found Karl's work positive. you on the other hand negged the deal then reported it.

GL in life, you're going to need it!!!

EDIT 51 people found it positive, probably more to come.

Extra EDIT, your neg on the deal was revoked because of your down votes in this deal.

what is the point of mirroring 3camels popular page here

There are many different sites, apps and Facebook pages that alert people to deals, most people are not constantly checking them all for deals but most users of ozbargain come here multiple times a day/week to check for bargains.

I don't care how people find out about deals as long as they get posted here then I am happy.

Yes you can and the community will vote whether they think it's a bargain or not. It's a pretty good system.

I'd rather listen to the community votes than some random inactive member who blocks people they don't agree with.

30 pack of garbage. What would Suzanne say?

    • +2

She'd probably like it more than the other 30-pack she got on Christmas Day.

  • How does anyone even like this. The Westernized Maggi is absolute shite. Its basically just plain salt guys. If you look up the ingredients of the flavor mix sachet, Salt is the first ingredient in the list. The Spices only come at the end of the list. This in itself should be a good reason to avoid this like a plague. And the Australia wheat that they so much flaunt for the noodle cake should be correctly labeled 'Refined Wheat Flour' not 'Wheat Flour'. Refined wheat flour is bleached to such an extent that it looses almost all of its nutritional properties. I know that we don't eat Instant noodles considering the health factor but the least they could do is not use refined wheat flour.

  • +1

White ppl: this must be what authentic asian cooking tastes like, delicious!

  • i use these and the flavour powder as a base for a desi style stir fry. Other branded noodles dont have the same taste to them from my experience. Maybe its the way they make the noodles? Anyway, i dont know anyone who'd eat these on their own, but as base to add actual spices, veggies and protien to its pretty good.

for actual instant noodles indomie or shin all the way
