17pin (Xiaomi) Juistar Portable Blender - $29.95 Delivered @ bestforapple eBay

50

Not the cheapest it's been but I was on the market for one more of these now and this seems like the best price.

Has been excellent for me over the past year and a bit. Just noting that the glass bottle means it's stylish but for handling with care and the built in motor means its not dishwasher safe.

Have never seen the point of these. I guess if you had to buy the fruit while you're out and about and didn't have any at home already, but that seems like a wildly specific use case.

What's so hard about just using a regular blender at home and putting into a sealed cup and giving it a 2 second shake before drinking?

    • Came here to ask the same questions…seems to be a gimmick or entirely redundant.

I use it mainly because my regular blender is a pain to clean relatively for one serving. Over time it's gone on to become something I've used for protein shakes as well (although it's a bit fragile for this purpose). I tried the kambrook blitz2go and thought it was more powerful but this one was more convenient.

Travel. Camping. Fresh fruit rather than pre blended (like coffee made hours ago) - works for some, not for others.

Useful for making office smoothies if you've got a place that you can do it without annoying everyone around you.

My office provides free fruit and milk so I can make my protein smoothies there rather than using my own fruit and milk at home.

    • Hit the nail on the head. Well said.

Funny enough I bought one back in Dec 2021 for $10 and tried to use it recently… it keeps saying it doesn't have enough battery (red light flashes 5 times) but at the same time when I plug it in, it says battery full (solid green light). Given that I've only used it a handful of times enough to count on 1 hand it is hard to recommend this product for 3 times more expensive.

This can happen when the lid is not closed tight enough… Try screwing and unscrewing the lid a few times.

      • I've also tried it without the lid and it flashes green, so there is different pattern for everything.

        • +1

From memory, the lid itself shouldn't work unscrewed. It must be attached to the container cup.

Batteries can lose capacity if not used for long periods od time with no charge.

Even when it was new I had a lot of similar issues. I think they really cheaped out on the batteries. It's not even a Xiaomi product afterall. Just a brand that used their crowdfunding platform.

    • Hey mate, had the same issue a while back before I unfortunately had the glass break on me. There's a video floating around on YouTube, from memory there's a sensor wire you just need to cut inside and it'll be good to go. I'll try finding the video again soon.

Edit: Hey mate here it is.

      • I've already thrown out the lid I kept the glass to use for drinking tho haha

        • Haha fair enough almost did the same the before finding the vid

i had one of these and it was junk…battery is a joke… don't waste your money..

    Total waste of money.
Lasted a month and then doesnt charge at all.

  • Battery will not last long. I’ve had 2 of them, same issue, no charging after a few months ;(

  • Didn't really lasted too long for me.
