i am so tempted to buy this one…

    • Me too. Basically I'm tossing up whether to get this, the Dell S series ($50 more when discounts applied) or a Korean 2560x1440 monitor. I already have a Dell 3011 so this will be secondary, so cheaper is probably better, and I'd prefer glossy…

All I could find was a mention of the model number on Hard forum, but nothing really substantial.

Why can I not find this monitor for sale anywhere else?
    A search on www.staticice.com.au brings up nothing - http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=Samsung+C24…
Nor can I find any reviews.

Is this supposed to be a newly released product?

(shame about being 16:9 and 60Hz…sadly 16:10 monitors are pretty much dead)

    • yea im skeptical on this, haven't read any reviews or anything.

    • Think these new WVA monitors are reasonably new. They're supposed to be cheaper than the SIPS, so I'd imagine we'll be seeing more of them

    • You need to search for this model: LC24B550

      http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=Samsung+LC2…

Yea neither could I, the closes I came to reviews was opinions on Whirlpool…

Also remember HN has these on display, so do head down to one and play with it thoroughly !

Finally, burst the Norman bubble and price match it… lol

      • Yeah I just noticed that. Still, only at Harvey Norman and that's quite a difference in price :)
But usually, I find it suspicous when a product is only available for sale at large/major retail stores; they usually tend to be cheap/dodgy products which are supposedly manufactured by major companies (such as Samsung). But I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume this is a new product which isn't widely available yet.

        • Also note the 'U' at the of the BingLee code, states a 'US' version so am inclined to think this is a US only product made available slowly to other countries or something along those lines….

        • hmmm, you could be right considering the Harvey Norman version doesn't have the 'U'. Also, notice on the Samsung website (http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/pc-peripherals/monitor/le…) it's listed as "LC24B550US/XY" (in overview section) and as "C24B550U" (in the product title).

Dont no what for but still ordered one, you really shouldn't let me see this deal T-T
Got a LG IPS236 already, will compare which one is better.

    • Please let us know the results .

As this price , I think it is using AUO AMVA panel just like BENQ GW2450HM .

      • Compared, this one was a tragedy, see my post on the top replied to Spets's first post

      Nvm. Working now

  • Bought it as well! $200 for a 24 inch monitor is ok not much of a bargain. You can get them for $160. Let's hope this one is worth it :)

    • Please compare, bcoz if you don't require the extra features, save yourself the extra money as many people many never use these docking features !

  • Almost bought it, but no DVI and VGA, not height adjustable just wasn't worth the upgrade.

  • I haven't been able to find decent monitors online that beats this deal.

    Little options.

  • The specs indicate the USB display function may be USB3, in which case it should be quite responsive. USB2 display adapters are only usable for text-type applications.

    • I looked at the links provided earlier in this thread for a bit of an explanation about this. Few questions left unanswered:

So… when you hook it up via usb, it just acts as an extended desktop and not a clone? Plus - it appears to need a usb3 port for it to work properly. What is the extended desktop resolution, is it 1920x1080, or same screen res as the desktop?

      Anyone know these answers?

  • This could either be useful or entirely useless, but here goes:
    http://www.marketnews.ca/Reviews/Hands-onReview:SamsungSerie…

This is a review of the 27 inch model. While it will give no indication to how the display of the 24 inch monitor performs, at least the 'extra' features of the smart hub and the capacitive touch controls are mentioned.

    • Something is better than nothing, thanks !

    • If the 27' model performs the same as the 24', then this is a great deal!

    • It's not just the size that's different. This review is for the Series 7 range whereas this monitor is Series 5 ;)

  • You can check it out at Harvey Norman they have display and I found that the colour is very good than those cheap 24" monitor.

  • SOLD OUT….. read every link decided to grab one, mainly coz i have a spare google tv logitech revue box and dick smith settop box and an Asus O!PLay R1 media player & bose companion series II Speakers.. combined with a MHL Samsung adapter not using plus my GNex + Kingston WI-drive that my GNex can read… im gonna plug the settop box tv into google tv… the google tv hdmi and see if it's any good :) For a few hundred more would have grabbed a 27" Sammy HDTV Monitor that has USB ALL share more HDMI Inputs in built TV Tuner etc tho for $199 shipped:)

  • Went to purchase aaaaaaand.. sold out :(

  • anyone had this price matched at HN?

  • HN price match online deals? Dell ultra sharp 24" is $279 if anyone missed this deal.

    • It seems DELL have a bad policy for bad pixel (up to 6? ) , but if you buy it from Binglee or HN , you can easliy get it exchanged .

    • Yes they should, just tell them BingLee has this for $199 + free shipping, but I don't think there is a BingLee/Betta Electrical in Perth anymore ??? :S

      • Correct, no Bing/Betta here in Perth, I had a reply from Binglee this morning, they said to check back in around 4 weeks time for availability.

        • +1

Awesome news 4 weeks ain't that bad, I held out so people could but it, I myself need one but not urgently… :)

  • Seems they have stock again? Checked earlier today and said out of stock, checked back in just now and its in stock. Just ordered and it let me pay. So hopefully, order will be fulfilled.
