          • @dowhatuwant2: I liked Quantamania. "It's never too late to stop being a dick" scene is sooooo stupid, but I love it.

Marvel really went all in on the comedy. They need to stop. Their earlier movies had great balance of action, comedy and drama. They're just pouring it on too thick now. They don't want to be as gritty as DC, and that's fine. They were never too gritty to begin with. But just go easy on the comedy.

I swear to Stan Lee… if they make Daredevil funny, I'm going send them an angry @ on Twitter. Or X. Or whatever the cool kids call it these days.

@BadGiraffe: I think it's because so many people praised Thor Ragnarok, it was full on comedy. Literally making jokes as Asgard was destroyed and so many people acted like it was such a great film. I honestly don't get why it was so praised but it's what threw off the balance for subsequent films imo.

You can really tell this movie went through editing hell, some audio was obviously re-recorded, the CGI looks absolutely awful in parts and great in others, and the story just chops and changes all over the shop.

It's also the worst movie to deliver in the depths of people going through comicbook movie burnout. I had too look up a bunch of things, some happened in other shows, some bits never happened at all yet are shown in flashbacks, it's impossible to tell what you're meant to know and what not.

And in the end, it sets up whatever future movie/tv show. It feels like they had the beginning, the end, a single concept that feels like when a video game builds itself around a single mechanic (the switching thing) and the rest was just thrown together at the last minute.

  • People still watch Marvel?

  • Hmm not a decent choice IMHO.

I remember when we used to look forward to MCU releases

I'm looking forward to Daredevil: Born Again. I hope they don't mess that up. The Netflix series was so good.

Echo was really shit though which has severely lowered my anticipation for Daredevil.

        • Yeah. I don't care for a second season or an appearance in something else.

They didn't bring back any of the Netflix team for the Disney+ series. Not the writers, producers, etc. That's worrying. But still hopeful.

narrator; and despite BadGiraffe's optimism, they did indeed…mess it up

Phase 5 is just as boring as phase 4.

nice! keen to see it again, was awesome fun.

How is this a "deal"? I feel like this a colossal waste of 2 hours where I get nothing in return.

This film is great, great for ending all this woke Hollywood mess that's destroying content.
I hope Disney makes these new Rey movies too, they will bomb just like all of Disney's now politically charged garbage, all of this may actually get rectified. There's only so much money a studio can lose until they start creating content to get people back into cinemas.

  • Already free and available on the seven seas…

  • She hulk all over again

    • In what sense?

Worth a watch? Besides captain marvel, which other movies/shows do you need to watch before seeing this?

    • +1

Besides Captain Marvel as you stated, Ms Marvel and Wandavision if you want to know everything about the three main characters. Its not worth watching Wandavision though as it's just a small side character plot. I think the movie tells you enough that its not required to watch any beforehand, and then decide on Ms Marvel afterwards.

      • +1

I think Wandavision was pretty good though, certainly a unique concept, and pretty well executed.

I'd recommend watching it first, even though it doesn't necessarily add much to this movie.

Not as bad as some people said. Typical mcu movie. Captain marvel was super nerfed to make it a fair fight.

  • post credit was better than the entire film.

  • Boring movie. Choreography was also really bad in fight scenes.
