Natural Gas – including LPG conversion kit

    But it says

(LPG suitable, conversion kit not included)

    • Never seen one not include the LPG jets, likely copy+paste description or they're referring to a regulator thats not included.

Hi, I'm sorry for the confusion. LPG conversion kit is included. We'll revise the description 1st thing tmr. Thanks for pointing out.

  • Does it include or not include conversion kit ?

Perhaps do yourself/family a favour and just go straight onto induction cooking if your kitchen has a power point to support one.

You'll save yourself money, time & health in the longer run.

Haha I see the indoctrination has been a success!

      • ??? Induction is quicker, cheaper, safer. This isn't really up for debate anymore in 2024, you can just search the figures involved and enlighten yourself.

“Gas cooktops are killing us with their noxious gases!” (clutches pearls).

It’s just anti-gas political fear-mongering. Combined with false promises about electricity costs which continue to soar.

          No thanks.

Our gas cooktop and instant water heater are excellent and very cheap to run.

          • +1

@myfeetarehappy: Wholesale electricity costs are actually on the way down, also can be well mitigated with solar, and if you remove gas you save $500 a year in connection fees.

Gas certainly is cheap to cook with and heat water, but so is electricity. Unlike gas though electricity via heat pumps is vastly cheaper to heat a house then gas.

There is no anti-gas fear-mongering. There is only pro-gas propaganda, more so if you are a US media consumption troglodyte

            • @rickdwp: Right… spend $7,000 on solar to make my electric cooktop affordable? (Do a bit of wok cooking also so better with gas)

Heat a whole water storage tank every day rather than on-demand gas and either have too much or run out? (And nowhere to put a huge tank)

Have electric reverse cycle AC as that actually made sense but rarely use it these days as too expensive to run.

Annual gas bill around $560. Just got a notice my electricity is going up by $518 per annum.

And yes the anti-FF climate lobbyists are driving this, while we continue to export millions of tonnes every year.

              • -1

@myfeetarehappy: Your cooktop and water heater cost $560 a year to run? That's significantly more than my whole house costs to run with electricity. Do you have 10 adults living there??

                • @DiscountForThee: Solar panels yes?

                  • @myfeetarehappy: That is what allows cheap power bills, yes

                    • @DiscountForThee: Not really a like for like comparison then given the cost of the solar system

                      • @myfeetarehappy: The solar system will be paid off in a few years, and still be providing cheaper house running costs. Again, cheaper than just your gas for the whole house. What will your bills be in a few years, genius?

                        • @DiscountForThee: Well while we're talking extenuating circumstances I'm actually a couple of hundred in credit with my gas provider due to referral credits…so my annual bill out of pocket is next to nothing.

                          Which didn't cost me $7000.

                          • @myfeetarehappy:

                            due to referral credits

Sounds like a situation which will continue to be long lasting, sustainable, reliable, and that everyone can easily expect to effortlessly replicate

              • @myfeetarehappy: If your electricity is going up $500, change ya damn provider. They all pull this shit every year, just like telcos, just like insurance, just like oh yeah GAS! (profanity) me mate.

                • @rickdwp: Already have bro…this is OzBargain after all

                • @rickdwp: Nah, if you are getting free gas, buy a gas powered generator, disconnect the electricity and generate your own. I mean $7k on solar might be a waste, but the same $7k on a gas powered generator? Bargain!

          • +2

@myfeetarehappy: Didn't say anything about "noxious gases", if you understood how an induction cooktop worked you'd understand what I mean by safer. I get the gist that you aren't interested in learning new things.

            • @tromboc: Oh so no concern about it? Most of my lefty relatives have been banging on about it since this ABC report…

              https://amp.abc.net.au/article/102109372

A hot pot is dangerous regardless of how it was heated.

              • +1

@myfeetarehappy: Yes, but induction directly heats the pot, gas you have a flame which can potentially set fire to things other than the pot.
Read somewhere about a survey on professional chefs. Most had switched to induction. Not because of safety, health or cost, but because they work better. Also much easier to clean. This includes chefs who cook with woks. Just have to get a wok specific hob.

                • @rhangman: Well I’m glad you like it but I haven’t heard a compelling reason to switch out my gas appliances for more expensive, less effective electric ones.

Maybe when the Vic government raid my house and seize them I’ll change over, after I’m realised from prison.

                  • @myfeetarehappy: Not sure I'd swap out a perfectly good gas cooktop either. The point being made was to not buy an induction over a new gas cooktop which is not the same thing.

In this case though, we aren't talking less effective. An induction cooktop is faster than gas, will turn down/off near instantly like gas due to no residual heat in the hob, but also just a flat piece of glass (dished if talking a wok hob), so you can just wipe it rather than removing a bunch of parts to clean.

                    Other gas appliances though? Depends.

                  • @myfeetarehappy:

Some snowflakes are just so desperate to be the victim, aren't they?

              • @myfeetarehappy: You showed your hand when you brought left-right politics into a discussion about cooktops. Have an excellent weekend cooking however you like.

  • this looks like the horrible inalto cooktop I have.
