That's an insane price for this microwave!

    • -3

$23 savings is insane price? 27 percent savings?

      • 🙄 camels says normal price 180-220

      • Not sure why you're getting down-voted considering it's literally selling for $179 everywhere else.

        • -1

thats because people are way too sensitive these days :)

        • +7

Seems to be an older model replaced by the 25L Neochef, hence they’re dumping it.

          • +3

@ATangk: Yep, it still has a turntable. I have a Panasonic 27L flatbed inverter and they're so much easier to clean. I've always owned Pana microwaves and never had a problem with em.

        • +1

It's normally much higher than $179 though, it must be on sale everywhere right now.

  • All gone :(

  • Sold out already? That's quick!

  • Lucky got the last one.

  • that was quick

  • Out of stock

Is this the one that kills WIFI when running?

    • +5

Iirc from comments yes (although most microwaves do?) and also sings annoying tunes. It's seems a very ordinary product that ozb gets excited over, probably due to its price point and nothing else

      • +6

I have it and I think it is a pretty good microwave. I have never had an issue with wifi and quite like the tune it plays. It's the same with most Korean technology.

        • +1

thats cool i want a singing microwave

I like the tune my samsung washing machine plays when its done

          • @ChatCPT: If you learn German you can join in!

@ChatCPT: My neighbour has a singing washing machine, and their laundry door faces our living room door. They leave the outside laundry door open when washing for whatever reason (but close the internal door to the laundry, so that only we hear the washing machine rattling and knocking).

The tune was fun for the first year, but it gets a bit annoying after a while when they're running back-to-back loads. There's something to be said for a quick and efficient, no-nonsense beep like our German washing machine makes.

        • +1

Most Korean tech is quite likeable and sings tunes? I'm getting k-pop vibes

      • +5

Dunno why people think these are ordinary? I picked up a 42L version on FB marketplace for $100 in perfect condition. It's been the best microwave I've had. I like it's clean look on the front - a simple slider for the time, start and cancel button. Most times I just slide the time and press start. Alternatively can press start button multiple times to add increments of 30 seconds.

It's quiet, heats evenly and I like how there's no button to open, just a grab pull at the side of the door.

The tune is unusual but I got used to it after a day and don't notice it now.

        • +1

Almost every microwave in the world is manufactured by the same company. The only difference is the buttons and aesthetics.

      • +5

You can disable the tunes but only by disabling all sounds. Press and hold the Stop and Inverter Cook buttons simultaneously for about 2 seconds (you may need to wake it first if you have the clock disabled). "Off" will appear on the display when it's done. You can do it again to turn the sounds back on. This setting, like the clock, does not persist if there is power loss.

      • also sings annoying tunes

If you hold down "Stop" and "Inverter Cook" at the same time until it displays the word "Off" on the screen, it mutes every beep it makes. Remains that way until the power is lost. Obviously the actual microwave fan still makes noise when it is in operation, though.

Edit: Randomizer beat me by 8 minutes, curses, foiled again

      • Doesn't affect my wifi. I like the tune. Yes it's just a microwave no ground breaking tech, but it's a good one and it looks quite good, if that's important to you as it is me.

      • You can turn off the song, there's some info on the internet about it. I've got it, pretty happy with it.

    • It does to me, yep

    • Connect to 5 GHz Wi-Fi instead of 2.4 GHz and you won't drop out.

      Last part of article:
      https://www.howtogeek.com/401215/why-does-wi-fi-use-the-same…

    • ive got one, thats a definite YES

    • Not sure about wifi, but when my airpods are connected to my appleTv and Im in the kitchen whilst the microwave is running the signal drops in and out.

    • +1

      Yes, it destroys 2.4 gig.

      2.4 gig headset user reporting.

    • interferes with my headphone's bluetooth connection.

    • They tend to only jam 2.4ghz. 5g wifi shoukd be unaffected. At least thats how it is in my house with my oldish panasonic microwave.

I've had one of these for a few years. Awesome little microwave, plays some nice jingles as well as doing a good job heating the food evenly.

  • +3

FYI you can turn that tune off. God knows I did after listening to it a dozen times.

    • If it is the same LG tune as their other appliances than it is playing in my head right now lol

  • +2

Had one of these, hated it. At this price its probably better than many competing micros though.

    • +1

      Care to elaborate why?

  • I have the bigger version, anyone knows why does it play the tune DURING it is microwaving? like in the middle of the session it just decides to play some tunes randomly. Usually microwaves only play tunes when they finish or when you click a button?

    • U sure its not a midi player?

    • +1

Hold down "Stop" and "Inverter Cook" until the screen says "Off" to be free of your woes

    • yeah… to turn that shit off its like press and hold inverter cook plus power for 3 seconds or something similar. every time the power goes off ill just try a few button permutations till it cancels the (profanity) god awful music.

    • +2

For me that only happens while defrosting and according to the instructions it's supposed to be our cue to turn the meat over.

      • Huh TIL, thanks. guess I should have rtfm

    • Will only do this if you've set it on a defrost setting etc.

Setting time and start like 99% of uses doesn't do this.

  • +3

Looking good but not good quality, mine and my friends' both died less than 3 years.

    • +1

My sharp lasted 12 years. Went to the shop and looks like the same sharp. Went the LG 42L as it was cheaper. I can definitely vouch for a sharp microwave!

  • +1

Looking at previous deals these things seem to be evenly split for both positive and negative reviews 😕. What’s OzBargain’s second favourite microwave?

  • +6

No downvote from me because it's a good price - but I would not buy again even at half this price. Very poor product design and reliability. Do not recommend.

    • Glad to hear that. I was bummed I missed out

  • +1

My last LG wouldn’t last even a year. My Samsung has been running strong for almost 10 years plus (touch wood).

  • Now it's back but at $179.00

  • Good

  • Had 2 of these, 1st one was a second hand and broke a year after. So bought a 2nd one as it fit just right in our kitchen and also kept the glass plate as a spare. I brought it to the service centre yesterday as it did not heat up, good thing it is still under warranty. This is not a reliable MW, but at this price, it'll do.
