Dashboard Phone Holder

Can someone recommend a good dashboard phone holder that works, I have tried so many vent phone holders but nothing last long.

This is probably what I'm thinking of getting https://www.amazon.com.au/Loncaster-Dashboards-Anti-Slip-Com…

Or any other recommendations

Not as helpful, but I rate the UGreen vent phone holder.

Dashboard phone holders leave an unseemly mark on your dashboard especially if you don’t remove it every time you’re not driving and you park in the sun all day

    • haha, I'm ok with the mark on the dashboard, it's an old car, but I will check the UGreen vent phone holder.

My last one was a gravity one UGREEN Car Phone Holder Air Vent Gravity Cradle which I was very happy with.

Depending on how much you're spending and what you're doing, you could consider an AA head unit. I have a Sony XAV-6000 which support wireless AA/Carplay. There are also cheaper units such as the Atoto F7WE for about $150 or standalone AA/Carplay screens.

Yes, this one is the one I rate

  • I've got one similar to the one below with a different vent adapter which locks in to the vent. Can use in landscape orientation too.

    • I had the first one, it comes out easily, maybe something to do with vent in the lancer.

If you plan on keeping your vehicle for a few more years it’s worth putting a CarPlay or android auto head unit in.

  • I like this one that sticks to the dash.

One thing to note though, it says you can unpeal and restick multiple times.

I would avoid peeling it off at all. I did that and it became less sticky.

Some 5 years ago, I bought a friction mount bean bag one for like $17. It was great. I still use it but cant find a replacement.

If its an old car with a cd player, you can get a holder than sticks into it. Like this
Not recommending that particular model, it's just an example.

I had one for a while, was pretty good and a nice position. I'd suggest finding one with longer fins if you don't use the cd drive. Mine didnt go in very far, and the spring became a bit weaker and it was less secure.
I'd still use it if I hadn't lost it. And would buy a new one if the previous owner hadn't bolted on a metal bracket that beats any flimsy holder.

  • Quadlock. Not cheap but have one in my car and bike and its great. Stands up to high winds on my motorbike. Need a stick on for your phone or a quad lock phone case. Had mine for two years and money well spent.

  • I've been using Cygnett for about 2 years now, and it's still going strong. My phone, iPhone 8 plus (yes, it's quite old) hasn't fallen off when mounted. Pretty strong hold magnet!

  • What'd you end up getting OP?

I was thinking about a floor mounted one, similar to this,

But then you also need to purchase the phone mount itself.
