[TAS] Kincrome Adjustable Wrench $25 @ Bunnings Warehouse, Burnie

100

My local Bunnings (Burnie Tasmania) has the Kincrome wrenches on clearance. Can't find them on the Bunnings website.

They feel good quality(Kincrome normally is good gear) and they have the little ruler engraved on the head which is useful. They also have the next size up, can't remember the price on that though.

Like like a bargain to me.
They've been this price for at least a week.

Yes this is a good price for a good quality Kincrome 250mm adjustable wrench.
And its probably what a tradesman would prefer

But for the average OBer and part time handyman the Craftright wrenches are certainly good quality and a great buy…
    200mm only $6.50
    250mm only $9.95

Alternatively and highly recommended the Craftright pack of 4 adjustable wrenches (300, 250, 200, 150) is only $29.98. Given the 300mm Craftright wrench alone sells for $19.98 this is a GREAT BUY!

Ive been using these Craftright adjustable wrenches for years and find them more than satisfactory

Agree - these ones easily suit my occasional DIY needs

I find Craftright to have the worst quality tools. They are cheap and work in a pinch, but all of mine have developed surface rust pretty quickly. Craftright tools are good for tools you plan to use once or twice to save money, but I wouldn't buy Craftright for any tools that I plan to use regularly. Same scenario as Bunnings Ozito power tools.

      • Im referring to the adjustable wrenches my friend
        Pls dont generalise.

Ive had mine for over 10 years and they are still like BRAND NEW!

If you're going to pay around the Craftright prices, you'd probably be better off paying just a little more and looking at the Trojan range for some better quality.
I have my Trojan 300mm adjustable wrench, multigrips and various other Trojan tools that were used everyday for plumbing for a decade, none ever broke and the wrench has some sloppiness in the adjustment now.
I can't really fault the quality of Trojan tools especially for how hard of a life I have given them, just some food for thought.

yes Trojan offer a cheap alternative to Kincrome if they will be used regularly such as you do.
but Craftright is perfect for what I have suggested….
        for DIY/handyman occassional use.

Im too poor to buy twice and if someone should inherit my possessions one day, Id prefer it be a blessing and not a burden.

  • I will never buy a non-ratcheting wrench ever again

    • They are ok. Pain in the ass for some jobs because they are bulkier and heavier than a combination spanner. They won't fit where a regular ring spanner or thin walled socket does and the open end is often thicker which is sometimes a problem for locknuts etc.
I really like the bahco 4in 1 spanners because of the thin ring not having as much trouble but it runs into similar problems…
I guess my point is right tool for the job. I like shifters for bending flat metal and things. Use them to attach onto things and lever them while fastening… im thinking about my shifter/podger which I can slide a bar over for added leverage while my 32mm ratchet spanner sits in my toolbag with little use

    Wheres the kuh-nipex people at?

After I bought my Knipex pliers wrench, I put all of my adjustable wrenches into retirement. No more rounding nuts for me!

      • I have the Knipex pilers wrenches up to 400mm. I still need a shifter from time to time. There’s a reason Knipex still make a shifter
