I'm a sucker for fresh cherries. Thanks OP.

The best part about amazon is getting the free 1 month trial, buying something with 0$ shipping, cancelling immediately, and a few months later doing it all again lol

nice, I live in Tasmania and have 4 cherry farms within 15 min drive of my place

      you lucky bugger

What prices do they sell cherries at the door?

      • +6

        rrp is 20 per kg,

but I get it for half that as I know one of the farmers and I sell him my beef at a good price as well,

        • +1

Damn. Cheapest I've been able to find in Hobart is $15/kg.

        • How much do you sell beef for compared to supermarkets? In usually get eye fillet from ALDI for about $28 /kg. Just curious if we're getting screwed these days.

          • @TommyGun: that is a reasonable price,

but buying from supermarket you have no idea of the cattle breed, location where it was raised, or the diet it ate, all which contribute to the quality, flavour, etc etc.

These are excellent for olives if you want to process your own.

No way will these pit a raw olive…

      • For $12.41 I will take that risk

      • Yes, they do. Takes a while to get through if you have 10kg though.

      • A glass bottle top works for the old wogs, I’m sure this would be able to do the same thing if not better.

        • Not for raw, unmarinated olives.

Ayo I’ve been using a metal straw to de pit cherries like some kind of Neanderthal…this is a thing? Fuark

    • +4

I find pitted cherries on their own feel mushy. As much as a PITA the pits are they still provide some form and a particular mouthfeel. (Also nice sucking a pit super clean and spitting that thing as far as possible).

      • +2

        Agree

It’s more for my 2.5 year old who sometimes does spit the seed and sometimes eats it whole lol

      • pitted cherries are for the yungunes.

        • for the yungunes

          Why ??

"ᴹᵃʸ ᵗʰᵉ ᵉˡᵉᶜᵗʳᶦᶜᶦᵗʸ ᵇᵉ ʷᶦᵗʰ ʸᵒᵘ"

  • Feel like cherry pitter should be a punchline for a dirty joke. Keep looking for euphemisms in the comments.

  • A chopstick works fine to push the cherry seed out.

No need for this waste of a product.

But hey I'm a hater haha

All this time I was using my mouth to pit the cherries!

    • +1

      I’m sure she appreciates that

  • Meh, a single cherry, looks like a slow way to get the job done. 4x or 6x FTW.

bought one over a decade ago.. used it once more for show…

  • I have an OXO one that has a shield for the splatter… wonder if this will get messy.

  • Ordered 1 Thanks 🙏

  • Yea, chopstick or metal straw works fine.
