Hi everyone, please be kind if my question is silly.
I'm planning to drive to Lithgow NSW from Sydney's inner west, with a passenger. It is about a 145km, 2hr10min drive one way, and return on same day. I'm just wondering if my current car, a 2019 Yaris hatch 1.3L, will be safe for a long-distance drive and mountain roads. Or should I consider hiring something more suitable?

The yaris is a very dangerous vehicle, i wouldnt attempt to go more than 35kph. Over 10,000 people have lost their lives in the past 12 months from this deathtrap. Nothing less than a G-wagon with a brabus kit would suit the monstrous world record breaking 2 hour drive being attempted here.

Remember to keep left, and make sure the number on the big dial inside the car matches the one on the big signs next to the road (especially when there's vehicles behind you). You'll be fine.
145km you haven't even left the metro yet….
Why would someone even own a car when they are not sure if it is capable of driving 145kms? It would have to be falling to bits, any car built in the last 30 years should have no issues with a drive like that

This is not even considered as a long drive. You will be fine. Just drive safe and take a break half way through if needed. Enjoy your drive.
