We call thge back of a car a boot instead of the US trunk.
Should we call the front of a Tesla a Froot?
    I vote for Froot…

      instead of the US trunk.

      it actually says frunk

    • I reckon f-root

    • You’re Loop-y

    • Farse

Its known as froot or fartment (front compartment).

  • The V2 comes with an emergency release near the tow point, does this give someone access to the frunk?

    • -1

Yes and no. Every frunk can be accessed in an emergency as first responders may need to cut the HV cable that’s accessible via the frunk so this is a feature not a bug. The emergency release just stops the add on kit from preventing the frunk from being opened in this scenario. Without the emergency release feature the add on kit would hold the frunk shut preventing easy access in an emergency.

      • Thanks for the reply. I understand the manual Frunk release (via a battery on the cables at the tow point cover) only works when the car is unlocked or the LV battery is flat. This was added in an update years ago.
So the Frunk is the most secure place on the Tesla.

So I believe the soft closing emergency release is so you can get in the frunk if the soft closing motor failed. Is that correct? If you pulled it in normal condition, who it open the frunk or just release the soft close mechanism?
        Thanks

        • +1

You’re correct. If you pull it the soft close motor will be disengaged and free but the frunk will remain closed until the native tesla release in the tow point cover is triggered in the conditions you mentioned above.
