Update: Refund from Samsung From Cancellation of Accessories

Update: Got refunded for the cancelled accessories from Samsung.

Hi, wanted to find out if anyone received a refund from Samsung yet for cancellation of the accessories while retaining mobile phone from recent pre orders?

I have cancelled the accessories but kept s24U which I have received already but no sign of refund for accessories.

    You used a voucher towards the accessories, are you sure they're going to give you the refund…? Seems like a bit of a breach of agreement

    I am pretty sure few other people did this and just wanted to find out if they have any communication from Samsung regarding refund. I spoke to Samsung reps and they said similar words to what you have written. So Not sure!

  • Took a few hours for it to be refunded once it gets marked as delivered on your order. It's not meant to refund you because it's credit towards accessories. The fact that you asked some Samsung reps about it is like asking the teacher why the homework hasn't been collected yet

      OP went in and cancelled the accessories from the order, hoping it would discount the order accordingly as well as get the coupon discount

        Yeah that's what everyone in the other Samsung posts were doing. It refunds you, but it's not meant to is what I mean

    Order summary is showing $1212-$267=$947

    It’s not letting me download invoice. That’s why wondering about $267?

      • People are getting the emails and refunds.

        Some got the email within 2 hours, the same day etc.

        I assume it's the weekend and no refunds are processed on the weekends

        Some reported their PayPal repayments reduced and some got the refund the next day to their card.

        Maybe wait until Monday.

  • Is this some sort of loophole. I know sometimes phone deals comes with bonus extra (that really cost them almost nothing) as promos. Refunding the accessories at full rrp to reduce the raw cost of the phone?

    Did you order the phone and manually added the accessory op?. Meaning the original phone was always going to cost $947, with or without accessory.

  • Yes, I have recieved my refund from cancelling the accessories. Took about 7 workings days. I did pay via afterpay, if that makes any difference.

      • No, from cancelling. I reached out to support after delivery of phone, and received a refund about a day later.

  • Hey I placed a pre order yday. Is there a way I can cancel just the accessories? I see a cancel order button on samsung shop app but I am a bit worried if that would cancel the whole order?

    • It won’t cancel the whole order, on next screen, you can choose which item/ accessories to cancel.

      • Thank you so much mate. Also, looking at your post, I assume all I have to do is to cancel the items and wait for an auto refund?
        Or do I need to poke someone?

    I noticed you got the refund. What process did you take to get it?

    I am still waiting for the refund 5 business days after getting my order, I even called Samsung on day 3 and they said to wait up to 5 business days. Still nothing - no e-mail or anything.

      I think I am in the same boat. I did not get a refund as of yet. I cancelled buds last week thursday. Did you get any refund by any chance? Or did samsung provide any further updates?

        TLDR: no update, called Samsung twice - got no where and emailed them.

        Conclusion: I will do a charge back if nothing comes out of it.

        • Did you cancel your order using the samsung app? I am wondering if the platform plays a role in how their refund system works.
          As for the charge back I have never done one. Should I just call my bank to do that?

          • @ImmigrantInAus: Nah I cancelled it through my desktop via chrome.

            With charge back, the banks would want enough evidence and most likely time so they can process the charge back properly without no follow up.

            Best for you to keep following up with Samsung, write down the evidence which will be handed to the bank.

            It you want real evidence, submit an online enquiry so you have a paper trial as evidence to the bank.

            I'm planning to submit a charge back end of this month or next once I gathered enough evidence.

            You have your original receipt and you should have the cancelled receipt PDF showing the difference then on your "orders" screen in your Samsung account, you should see the reduced amount. This is good evidence but banks most likely want you to follow up with Samsung first and give it time.

              • @ImmigrantInAus: I gave samsung support a call and they have advised to wait five business days for the refund to process. Similar to the advice that they gave you.
                I will call them on Friday again if I dont receive a refund by them. If all else fails, then yeah charge back is the only option left.

                • @ImmigrantInAus: Yeah, I highly doubt they will action the refund because I am on 10 business now and nothing. The last rep said call my bank on where is my refund, but it's not the banks problem, its Samsung not processing the refund. Nothing to do with our banks processing it.
