[Pre Order] Samsung Galaxy S24 + Tablet/Buds/Watch + Samsung Care from $882.58 (with Non-Return Trade-in) @ Samsung EDU & App

2521
GALAXYAI

There's the generic deal page but I thought I'd post this separately because of trade-in shenanigans.

Update: Looks like most addons are OOS.

Update 2: Well done, y'all have managed to clean out most of Samsung EDU Australia Mobile. Stay safe and stay inside, UV Index through the moon most days 🌚

Note: If you don't want to bother with the app, just order using your PC. You'll lose out on the 5% off extra which isn't too bad.

Alrighty.

Part 1:
1) Download the Samsung Shop App
2) In settings switch to the EDU account
If you've already used the first mobile order discount, you can create a new EDU account. For example if you signed up with Samsung EDU directly then use UniDays to make a new account or vice versa.

Part 2:
1) On the mobile app add an S24 256GB to cart
2) Select the free 1 year Samsung Care
3) Select nothing to trade in (we'll do this later)
4) In the next page it'll ask you to add extra stuff. Add your addons as desired as per the deal combination section after these instructions.
5) On the checkout page input the GALAXYAI voucher.

Part 3)
1) Download the Samsung Trade In app on your phone. Edit: You can also do this directly during check out. Select "I am new to trade in" on check out.
2) Go through the promts, and make sure to select SCREEN CRACKED. This ensures your device value is $1 so you pay $30 non-return fee; if your device tradein value is more than $30 then you pay $60. This is because you are NOT sending in your device to Samsung.
3) Obtain trade-in code

Part 4) Redeem bonus trade-in code
1) Check out and pay the amount with the 5% off mobile.

Deal #1: Galaxy S24 + Galaxy Tab S9 for $1558.03 OOS

The maths:

(S24 $1119.20 + Tab S9 $1039.20 - $100 eVoucher - $200 GALAXYAI code - $250 trade in bonus - $1 device value) * 0.95 mobile app 5% off = $1527.03

Now you'll be charged a non-return fee after I think 2 weeks after your stuff is delivered = $30 non-return fee + $1 device value = $31

Total $1527.03 + $31 = $1558.03

Deal #2: Galaxy S24 + Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus for $1330.03 OOS

Cost works out to be:
(S24 $1119.20 + Tab S9 FE Plus $799.20 - $100 eVoucher - $200 GALAXYAI code - $250 trade in bonus - $1 device value) * 0.95 mobile app 5% off = $1299.03

Non-return fees = $30 + $1 = $31

Total $1330.03.

Non-return fees = $30 + $1 = $31

Total = $882.58

Total = $925.44

Deal #5: Galaxy S24 + Galaxy Tab S9 FE for $1140.03 OOS

Non-return fees = $30 + $1 = $31

Total $1140.03

Deal #6: Galaxy S24 + 4 x Galaxy Buds FE for $946.99 OOS

Non-return fees = $30 + $1 = $31

Total = $946.99

    Thanks for the detailed post.

Can a Gov account be used on the App like edu.

    • +3

I think Gov gets same pricing as EDU store so give it a shot!

Edit: Apparently on EDU on the app so no Gov

    • +4

      No, only EDU on app.

      • +1

But you can get an extra $200 CME voucher through Samsung members app

        • +1

CME works on top of edu as well

    • +1

Tab S9 vs Tab S9 FE.

  • How can you get an account for the EDU store

  • Why not trade in the device?

    • +4

Because Samsung's trade-in valuation for devices are very low. You are better off selling on eBay.

      • -5

says who? They are offering $360+250 bonus= $610 for my S21 ultra. No way you are doing better than that on ebay.

        • +13

But you keep the $250 bonus (and cop the $30 fee)

          • -1

@TheG1000: It was a $60 fee for me last time.

            • +9

@JR63: Hence why in the instructions I've written to tell the trade-in system that your old device is cracked. This will set the device value to $5 and you'll cop a $30 fee.

              • +2

@wizko: Hi, I tried to add the trade-in directly during check out. Select "I am new to trade in" on check out. But I don't get to select screen cracked after that. I only get to select the phone type, storage and given the value and then next step to the checkout page. Have I missed anything here? Thanks.

                • @fr0z3nb1t3s: Hmm I see. I personally haven't done the web trade in, then maybe try the app? I've done the trade in app several times in previous years and worked well.

                  • +1

@wizko: I think i found it. i had to proceed to check out and then they asked about the condition of the trade-in. so the only option I need to select as 'no' is "Is your device free from physical damage? This includes cracks, dents, bend or broken parts. Once I put in my IMEI, I can see that they value trade in to $5 but how do i opt for non return $30 fee (or it will be $60)? Does it mean, I lose the $130 trade in value and instead add $30 into my total cart? or that will get charge separately by the trade in company? Thank you for your patience :)

        • +3

But you can get the bonus part without trading in the phone..

        • -1

Thanks for this info, mate. Planning to offload my S21U too. Too many Samsung deals right now which one that's giving $250 bonus?

        • -1

Not sure why he is so downvoted. Probably depends a lot on the phone you have. I was looking at S21 base - they are offering $270, I see plenty on Marketplace around the $350 mark. Assuming you could get it for that, $50 (taking ito account the $30 fee) is not a bad price to pay for avoiding the hassle and risk of selling secondhand.

      • with non return trade in, do they lock the imei of the phone or we can still use the phone???

        • +2

They lock the imei. I have a dual sim phone, used both imei for different trade in.

          • -1

@mfu: what if I trade in a old s3 frontier and then dont send the watch.
can still use the tradein credit right???
And they can deduct $30 or $60 for not sending in the device?

            • +2

@Ash1122: I never able to trade in my watch for phone, so I am not really sure how people doing that.
But if you didn't send the device, they will deduct both the price of the trade-in device + $30 but you keep the bonus trade-in bonus.

example your device trade-in value is $60 and trade-in bonus is @250
              if you buy $1000 device,
              you initially need to pay $1000 - $60 - $250 bonus = $690
after a while, if you didn't return the device, you will charged $60 (your device value) + $30 (admin fee) = $90
so in total, you pay $690+$90 = $780

              • @mfu: Hi, I am not on the edu app but standard samsung account, I am so confused. Initially the trade in value was $130 and I picked S24 with $200 worth of add-ons. It comes up to total of $1036. So if my device trade in value changed to $5 (if i choose screen cracked), does it mean I will lose the $130, gain $5 so it should be $1161 and if I don't return, they will charge me $60 admin fee + 5 trade in value so my final cost to me will be $1161+65 = $1226?

          • +1

@mfu: Hi, can someone explain a bit more of this non return trade in process please? Do we need to do this in the trade app first before purchasing through samsung? Thank you?

            • @fr0z3nb1t3s: yes, trade app first, you will get a code to input when you purchase in Samsung app/web

        • +4

You can use the phone but they wont accept it for future trade ins

        • +1

Conflicting info here… Do they lock the imei with a non-return or do they just not accept the device again on future trade ins?

          • +1

@Sp4nKy: to make it clear, Samsung remove the imei for future benefit that require imei. As far as I know, it only related to trade in, warranties, and report stolen. The device is not locked and the imei is still usable to receive signal.

        • Can someone clarifies what happens? I traded my S22 Ultra, but now prefer to keep it and pass onto family member, would they lock the phone if I don't send it in?

          • @skylinebmwm5: sorry for the incomplete info, let me clarify it: they lock the imei to use on future trade in, and warranty purpose. But you could still use the phone, they didn't lock the phone.

      • +3

I used to think that but with Ebays ridiculous fees I might just actually send my phone in this year. S23 Ultra goes for 900ish on ebay less 14% in fees vs 765 trade in

        • +1

eBay plus membership for $4.99 for 1 month + zero variable fees for 1 sale promo. You only give ebay 30c for selling your item.

        • Just don't get NAD empty box scammed like I did from ebay. I appealed being out of pocket and got refunded by ebay, but hell it was stressfull.

          • +1

@dubo1981: Video tape wrapping the box and take a picture before send off. If buyer files a case then call eBay up / chat and provide them video proof and you'll win 100% of the time. Done this a few times.

            • +1

@wizko: I videod getting the box back and unwrapping it, because the buyer had been lying in their appeal. But still it was stressful after ebay automatically accepts the return and your account is -$1,000+ while you go through the appeal process.

Lots of comments on reddit and other forums where sellers have done everything including weighing box while sending and getting back, and eBay rejects the appeal.

              • +2

@dubo1981: Yep I've seen those, most people don't know how to navigate eBay as a seller. The automated 'dispute' system will side with the buyer and there is no actual human that looks at it. You necessarily need to chat or ideally call them in which case I have won the case every single time. I used to sell a lot a few years back and the few dodgy buyers I got lost their case every single time. For appeals, you don't lodge it yourself, you always chat/call and they do it for you. This way they flag it for manual review and you win.

In any case sorry to hear about your ebay losses, it's a shit site but gets stuff sold so can't complain too much.

                • +1

@wizko: Good advice. I got my money back in the end, so all good. But am worried about selling anything high value again!

Not having much luck with Facebook Marketplace though.

        • There's a $250 bonus on the trade-in, so $250+$765

  • +1

Dumb question probably but im looking at upgrading my note 10 with what ever the best new samsung phone is. An s24 ultra???? (is that the biggest and the best?)
As it isnt out yet how do i know what features ir has? I want the satellite emergency function i believe it is meant to have TIA

    • It's out now.

      • Thanks. I knew it was close

    • +3

Damn no satellite sos. Looks like I'm keeping the note 10 for another year or maybe get a runout s23 ultra for a year

      • +1

        Lol
A guy with a note from the 90s main concern is satellite calls from the desert.

        • Too right it is. I want to get rid of my sat phone.
Hei if I was from the 90's I'd be asking which model has IrDA

          • -1

@feisty: why you in the desert so much?

just get a iphone if you need a mobile + sat.

            • +11

              @pinkybrain: I would but I'm not a 12 y.o. girl. πŸ˜‰

          • @feisty: Ericsson T610 has got both Bluetooth and IrDA. :)

      • You need iPhone for that feature

    • +4

If you are looking exclusively at the biggest Samsung phones, these are your upgrade options from the Note 10, starting with the latest/best:

      • S24 Ultra
      • S23 Ultra
      • S22 Ultra
      • S21 Ultra
      • S20 Ultra & Note 20 Ultra

      Alternatives from other brands:

      • iPhone 15 Pro Max
      • iPhone 14 Pro Max
      • iPhone 13 Pro Max
      • Pixel 8 Pro
      • Pixel 7 Pro
      • Pixel 6 Pro

Note: I don't know about the satellite thingy - iirc the apple watch ultra may have something like that?

      • +1

        Legendary Nillionaire.
Im a samsung guy. So no iphone sadly. It seems like the s24 ultra with the redemption is the best value in the biggest and brightest screen phones. Ill just get the smallest storage to make it cheaper. The note 10 is still a great phone but is getting screen burn in and the antenna both 4g and wifi seems to have deteriorated over the years.

      • i went from Note10+ straight to Fold5. not even thinking to go to all the phone you listed above S20-S24 because, they are all boring form factor phone no change since 10 years ago
i will never go back to slab phones

        • Ah I forgot to include them since I see them as pretty niche. I don't find slabs boring but if you get enjoyment from new form factors, you do you. I personally don't like any of the ones that are currently out. Samsung Fold's screen when folded is too thin for me. Google's one is too short for me. Well I can't judge you enjoying form factors since I get excited about phone colors lol

          • @Nillionaire: screen when folded is too thin for me oh you mean too narrow
nah, i have small hands, wider will be a no no
i wish samsung keep doing that form factor.
            perfecto

the slab.. omg i changed few phones before note10 and once i got it setup with nova launcher, after a week its like WTF is this new phone or my old phone???? cant tell the difference. after that, i realised it is no point to change (slab to slab) phone.. they are the are same….

            • @CyberMurning:

              oh you mean too narrow

              Right πŸ˜…

            • @CyberMurning: what do you mainly do with the larger screen?

also how big is the youtube video size on the unfolded screen vs a normal s24 ultra screen?

              • @pinkybrain: what do you mainly do with the larger screen?
almost everything: from gaming, emails, browsing, watching.
the front is just for a quick reading sms/whatsapp when im busy and only have few secs. well sometimes i play games on it too (the easy games not genshin type) and ofcourse making receiving phone call. no need larger screen.

and the best is, when folded i can carry it comfortably with one hand, fit in pockets better, and looks/feel compact (compare with others which has wide outter screen like google etc). again, i have small hand. thats why i like this form.
and not because i hate big screen, one of my best phone was xiaomi mi max 3 with 6.9" inches screen! i adore this phone but yes you can imagine it is big..
and now i get even bigger, and when folded, its compact!

                • @CyberMurning: how much did you paid for it?
including codes / bonus / trade in

also how big is the the youtube video size in unfolded screen vs the regular s24 ultra screen..

main concern is the youtube video size is not that much bigger but now has the crease.

                  • @pinkybrain: how much did you paid for it? around 1500

sorry has no s24 to compare you can go to shops and play with it - just warning, when you try the front screen you will be like no way this is useless! i thought the same but after owning it is actually okay
yeah not full screen unless you set the video to weird ratio same as the fold.

                    • @CyberMurning:

doesnt matter the deal has expired but yeah cheaper than any of s24 deals here

i know it is expired, but still wanted to know, that is why I asked

                      sorry has no s24

can you measure the youtube screen on your unfolded screen (with the black bars in it's normal aspect ratio, not in a zoom to the max that ie covers all of the phone's screen)?

-Length and Width and diagonal measurement

    • -2

Didnt know Note 10 has the satellite emergency, may I know where about did you see that?

  • +1

You would have a better deal with S24 Ultra and using the $200 trade in code via chat

    • +2

Can you send a breakdown of how that would work with a trade-in of an s23 Ultra undamaged

      • +1

        s24 Ultra 256
        $1759 - $250 - 200 =$1309

        s9 Tab
        $1039.20 - $150-$200 = $689

        Total $1998 - If you are using the app 5% - $1,898.1

It is $340 dearer to the s24 but two level up phone with Snapdragon Gen 3, and I don't need to breakdown the upgrades are 100% worth the difference.

        • +1

Is Aus actually getting the snapdragon chip though?

        • +3

          I purchased s24 ultra 256gb with the tab s9 Fe+ 128gb
Ended up paying $1629.53 with 5% edu app, 350 GALAXYAI code, 250 bonus trade in, 200 unique discount code

          • @ahxching: Either or, my point was s24 U provided a much better value with the extra $200

          • @ahxching: This is what I want to do but I just can't seem to get it to work, Trade-In code says it doesn't work, super frustrating. Edit* I am giving up, not sure how your GALAXYAI code is $350 and even my Unique code looks like it is $150 so thats why I am stuck on $1,825 and am $200 off, if anyone knows how to fix it shout out.

            • +1

@iveljetorox: Finally got it to work, I asked support for a $200 trade in code for the S24 Ultra and was able to do it. The Autogenerated code from the Samsung Members App did not work on the Education Store but the support agent code did, Happy with the $1625 for the S23 Ultra + S9 FE+.

              • +1

@iveljetorox: Glad it worked for you but I hope that's s24 ultra in your bundle haha

                • +1

@ahxching: Sure is mate, I made sure to quadruple check. Not sure if I could handle having bought the wrong phone after all the hassle it took me.

              • @iveljetorox: How do you get a trade-in code via chat? You just promise to return your phone and that's all?

                • @vovka: I have an old galaxy watch laying around, they did request the serial number for the watch. So yeah just say you want to trade something in, which you have to put through in the transaction anyway.

                  • @iveljetorox: I tried and they gave me a $200 CME- trade in code, which is too long and not accepted in the trade-in window.

                    • @vovka: The code is 3-4-4-4

                      The first 3 is CME-

You might need to reformat it to that format. Maybe even truncate the end

                    • @vovka: That code doesn't go into the trade-in window mate, it goes into the coupons/promo codes slot.

                      • @iveljetorox: Yeah, I asked via Samsung chat and they explained how to use it. I just cannot figure how ppl here get what they call "Loyalty Discount ". Samsung agent said it's only for upgrading from S23 or S23 Ultra.

                        • @vovka: Samsung used to give out loyalty codes via email and to get those, you need to provide IMEI of existing Samsung product that you own.

I agree that this code has nothing to do with 'loyalty' at all and should just be called CME voucher as they all start with CME.

    • Is the $200 only for Ultra? Will I get anything from chat if I am going to buy the basic model?

  • A true ozbargainer.

  • +26

Wait for the posts saying "I got this for $500, and all I had to do was trade in my $1500 S23 Ultra"

    • +1

Not exactly! I got an s23 Ultra for $745ish from the previous deal and stacked code.

    • hows that any different to

i got this iphone 14 for 500, all i had to do was resell my iphone 13 for 1500

  • +1

S24 doesn't have Snapdragon SoC, only in the US or Canada.

    • +2

      oh that sucks

back to the Exynos split market cpu again
and as usual this likely to get the worse performance and benchmark

      • +2

Heat, worse camera processing, bad optimisation, etc

        • yeap going by past history most likely the case

Samsung couldn't even make good enough cpu for s23
so they had to use Snapdragon

Surprising that they didn't keep this Snapdragon for S24 line
          and doing split market again,,

Is the s24 ultra the only one that has Snapdragon in every country/region ?

          • @pinkybrain: 1) Exynos for cheaper production costs
            2) yes only S24U

            • @Fobsessive: 3) Snapdragon in only the S24 Ultra means people who want the snapdragon have to get the most expensive model (in those regions that only selling the Exynos S24 and S24+

Great price, how much is it with the ultra instead of s24? Don't want a gimped exynos chip.
