    Was $90

    Tell em they're dreaming.

    • +6

pfffft. This is the going rate for a case of decent craft beer. We have the third highest taxed craft beer industry on the planet.

      • -2

Maybe a case of 24… No way $90 is the going rate for a 16 pack of craft beer. At least not on my infrequent perusal of Dan Murphy's.

        • Maybe your Dan's doesn't have a decent craft beer? I know mine doesn't.

          • @Nalar: That is totally reasonable. I am not a craft beer expert, but I know a lot of 'craft' beer is just the big breweries branding…

So I looked up my local brewery that's down the road and their 16 packs are between $55 and $80 for 375mls, or generally $115 for a 16 pack of 500ml cans. Though they do have a Vanilla Espresso Imperial Stout which is $232 for a 16 pack! But that is 10% ABV.

      • God bless government, after having a fair go buggering us in the arse the least they could do is let us have a nice refreshing beer.

  • Tempting!

  • +10

Love how we now pay the same price for 4 packs and 16 packs as we did for 6 and 24 packs

    Thanks world.

    • Yea getting stupid expensive.
I have to buy individuals like a poor person now!

    • I refuse to buy 4 packs as a protest, lol

      Albo's Alcohol excise

      • Yeah man… Bloody Albo…. There was never any excise before him! /s

        • -1

and yet this regressive tax has INCREASED under his government… gang booze oppressed and bigly

          • @Gdsamp: sadly this country is (profanity) considering your getting downvoted. cant belive people are happy with the way this (profanity) is running the country

          • +2

@Gdsamp: The excise has increased under almost every government for the past few decades.

In fact, the increases are written into legislation, and are automatic.

            Nothing to do with Albo.

  • I got the amber one recently and it was a nice drop.

    • Anything you would compare it to? I’m tempted but don’t like super dark beers much. I’m a fan of Roger’s but that’s probably Amber Ale playschool edition to a craft beer enjoyer.

      • +1

If you like not really dark beers, try Bright Brewery Amber Ale. Or, if you can get it, Shambles out of Hobart does a fantastic amber ale.

        • I wouldn't say it was super dark. Just a deep amber.

  • Broken down this makes each can, including delivery, to be less than $4 each. That's pretty decent value for a craft beer.

You'd be hard pushed to get a Great Northern, Carlton, VB or other mass produced "beer" for that price.

    Tempting!

You'd be hard pushed to get a Great Northern, Carlton, VB or other mass produced "beer" for that price.

Where are you guys shopping? Carlton is $52 for a 24 pack (of 375ml) at Dan's. Even at the 6 pack rate it's under $4 as a regular price…
Great Northern is a tad over $60 for a 30 pack of 375ml.
I'll probably get down voted for this too though.

      • +2

Great Northern is an objectively shit beer though.

        • Taste is subjective, but claiming a can of domestic factory beer is $4/unit is simply not true. Old mate is just being a beer snob.

        • It tastes like water. One of the few beers I cannot drink.

    • VB is about $2.10/375ml can when bought in a 30 pack. It's a comparable ABV (4.9%). Hell even authentic Asahi Super Dry Karakuchi (5%) is only about $3/500ml can, and it's imported from Japan. What are you smoking?

      • Asahi Cans aren't imported anymore. They're being made here now and aren't the same

        • +2

Most liquorlands/bws in brisbane have 500ml imported cans ATM. So good compared to aussie made stuff. Around $25 / 6pack

        • +1

It's not been an issue in Brisbane, they're still ex-Japan on the shelf at DM.

          • +1

@The Judge: Agree. 500ml imported Asahi can's are nearly the best valued (and best tasting) beer on the market. Still get imported at DM's, just be careful to read the case first to make sure.

    • Love this logic.. breaks a case down to a per can basis.. then proceeds to compare it to the per can price you would pay at the bottlo..

  • Any more specials on Wet Pussies? Serious question.

  • +2

16 cans, Get fked i say!

  • Just don't put any woke pictures on the cans.

  • I bought two cases to get free delivery. $10 donated per case to "Amazing Greys". Sounds like a taxable donation to me.
