Mens sheds are a great concept…. but all the ones around here are 11am - 2pm middle of the week… useless for those people working :(

      • Are you near Frankston? I was looking into men’s sheds around there not long back and their north shed is meant to open on Saturdays.

    • Thanks!

I think Bunnings has some workshops

    YouTube has 1000's DIY channels.

    • try a number closer to google. Most creators waffle on in the hope of getting extra viewing time.

If only there was a way to fast forward past the "waffling…"

TAFE also has short skills courses in things like woodwork, metalwork etc.

Bunnings have a bunch of videos and they also have a very active and helpful forum manned by trade people.

    YouTube is a great resource.

You don't need to go on a course to learn this stuff.

I literally just finished remodeling an entire laundry from YouTube.

    • The Bunnings videos are a good start but gloss over lots of details sometimes

      • Yeah but they get you started.

There are lots of resources out there. Literally just google "how to drill into masonry". A lot of it is common sense and combining several things together.

  • "YouTube"

That's literally how I became a mechanic, is by watching Scotty Kilmer and John Cadogan videos..

But I'm all seriousness, YouTube. So many great videos on how to do things like what you are asking. Sometimes better than doing a course with a burnt out teacher who has had a gutful of apprentice shit stains testing his patience.

    • Using John kilmer isn't such a great example, you gotta done a few oil filter and empty containers before you should consider his clips as 80% of what he said was introductory shit and only the rest was actual work but it will translate to 20/80 for an average person.
