Tangerine Is Useless for YouTube...My bad Firefox was the problem

i have been a customer with Tangerine for over a year and while attempting to view YT now every video comes to a dead halt it just hangs.

I run a speed test and it reaches the maximum download and upload speed 26/8 but it's useless with YT.

    Do you have any adblockers installed? YT has been very buggy/glitchy with any sort of adblock.

    Try using browser in incognito mode without any extensions running.

    There can be many reasons for this, why would you automatically blame your isp, that makes no logical sense.

    I would blame your pc instead.

    youtube has hit anyone using adblockers HARD
    it's a rinse repeat war between the adblockers updating and youtube updating
    because youtube wants your $$$ for a shitty service
    bring back the downvote number

    I'm on Tangerine, and have no issues with 4K videos on Youtube (or other streaming services).

    Time to look for another ISP tangerine is shite it doesn't matter if adblocker is on or off it's a clean updated W11 machine using Firefox connected with ethernet cable to modem.
    Iv'e been using PC's for decades i know what's needed for it to work if you want a ISP that constantly buffering and hangs with YT Tangerine is your choice unless you like 720p anything higher and it fails.

      youtube is least buggy with chrome. DNS wise, google I would hope.

        i have not tested all the browsers that's available with YT but i did just install chrome with the default settings and it streams YT good it made Firefox slow and unusable with YT.
        I first tested at 4k and there was just the occasional buffering for a second, Then tried 1440p and that streamed perfect with no hiccups so it's not Tangerine after all..My Bad.
        what's a good ad-block to try with chrome any recommendations?
        current DNS is 1.1.1.1

          adblock always ublock origin. while you're there, get sponsorblock and dearrow

          if you're game, set up encrypted dns on chrome.

          if you like firefox, fake your user-agent to chrome for youtube. not a good solution (since youtube thinks there's more chrome users) but it works.

    One thing i hate about a new browser is finding the setting for the change that you want to make.
    For example i imported my bookmarks from firefox to chrome but when i open chrome all my bookmarks are horizontal at the top and trying to find the setting to change so that they are not there to be seen is like…Good Luck!

    The reason why i stopped using chrome years ago because the bookmark options that i want are not there…they still haven't fixed it.
