I got this machine for $485 in August from Bing Lee and then got $75 Samsung cashback.

    • Also a close price to that: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76869

Ya but no stocks now at that price isn't it? Or throw in free delivery would make a good deal.

    • How is the actual machine? I'm looking for something like this.. was looking at 8kg+ but this is a decent price.

    • Doesn't really warrant a neg.

Outdated model now, discontinued, so shouldn't really compare to RRP

+'s: highly rated in the last round of Choice washing machine tests (78%, top machine of all 43 models in the test scored 80%)
-'s: Choice also rated Samsung second from last in terms of reliability (76% no reported problems in the first 12 months)

Not sure if it's worth it for me. The delivery kills it for one. I'd seriously consider for just over $400 if it was local (but probably extend the warranty).

Front loaders are bad for your back when loading up (if unit not elevated when installed). The only advantage over top loaders in the past is that FLs units were water & energy efficiency, but TLs have since caught up. Besides price are there anything advantageous over TLs now?

Front loaders are bad for your back

Most people are born with knees, they allow you to lower yourself without bending your back.

    • Perhaps you're a tall person. Some people are sufficiently short that they can't reach all the way to the bottom of a top loader. A pair of kitchen tongs help, but for some people a front loader is more practical.

There is a second BIG advantage of front loaders. You can put stuff on top of it, like a dryer. Very important in flats with tiny laundry rooms.

      • i have a bad back and for my experience thats not true, i dont have to lift the clothes up with hurts my back. i cant use a top loader. plus front loaders are still usually more water and energy efficient. i have found it doesnt offbalance as easy, i can put a dishwasher ontop of it and i can the hamsters running through the front glass window :) jk

I picked up the new model WF1752WPC at harveys for $495 and got $75 cash back through Samsung. I also add a 5 year warranty for $99 just in case, total was $519 with 5 year warranty and $75 cashback.

  • yeah not really a bargain 6 months ago when i was shopping for a machine this was pretty much the going price and most places were very keen to haggle on price as well, only benefit? (if it is one) is getting it direct from Samsung, however if this still qualifies for the $75 gift cards their giving from 22nd October 2012 to 9th January 2013, its a bargain and thats what should be mentioned it the post

This has been and prob will be cheaper elsewhere without the shipping charge. Hardly a bargain just like most stuff on this site.

Samsung repair is rubbish in my experience. 5 callouts to repair a fridge that was beeping constantly! turned me off samsung white goods for life.

    • my samsung which was only 3 years old just cost me $100 for a technician to come and look at it and tell me its dead. i got told not to buy samsung again 4 techs would not even come look at sumsungs. the back support unit (metal) dicintergrated and the large metal chunks were under the drum. thought something from the washing got stuck in there he pulled out a big metal chunk. spun the machine then 2 more peices fell off.
