  • Any feedback on quality Etc. with this Vs the Dell G3223Q 32"

    • +3

They are not comparable by all means: size, panel and resolution.

It's around $400…. What do you want for that budget?

  • +1

I'm a bit of a noob… But brightness seems low? Shouldn't even budget screens be hitting 400cd/m2~

    • it is. the brightness and response time show that this is using an ancient panel, almost surely having nightmare levels of black smearing.

this is one of the extremely rare things where people are right to say "i wouldn't use it even if it was free".

    5ms response time :spew:

    • Takes me back to the old days

This is more of an office monitor. Hardly describe anything described here as for gaming

This!!!! Great monitor for the office.

      • yep bought it for my work computer, the stand is pretty rubbish, bought an NB H100 Monitor Desk Mount, the smearing seems better than my Dell S3422DWG, haven't really tried to use the USBC yet but would like too

I have been using this panel for the last 4 years. It is a Kogan-branded Xiaomi Mi Monitor with 165 Hz instead of 144 Hz and is very good value for what it is. Perfect for someone who doesn't have enough room for two monitors and has all the features one would need for a non-OLED monitor. Normally $800, I got mine for $500, but seeing as it is a 2020 release, the price is good. This is definitely not a premium product and is not for gamers who want ultra-low response times or peak 1000 nit brightness. but as a decent entry level 1440p game or productivity monitor this is great for them.

    • Oh is it actually a Xiaomi white label type of thing?

      • A believe so. I was comparing both models for which was better and i eventually went with the xiaomi as it was black. And kogan was only doing a white model at that time.

  • How has ozbargainers experience been with Kogan monitors?

I had one with refresh rate issues or the monitor not playing ball with updated drivers.

Will flicker on changing from game to Windows and vice versa.

I have a 27" QHD 100Hz Kogan screen that's been working just fine for 5+ years. It has minimal inputs, a terrible stand and the menu is rubbish, but the display itself has been just fine.

      • The the stand is definitely rubbish 😂

    • +1

I was having similar issues and had to change the refresh rate in windows settings.

      • Glad I'm not alone. Once I changed to Dell monitor it confirmed my doubts on issue related to monitor.

  • this looks like a better option but without type c and 2” less https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/134586420205

    • It's not really an option as both monitors serve different purposes. 32" has more vertical real estate than a 34 inch does. Different aspects ratios etc. so someone looking to buy a 34" isn't going to look at 32" for alternative

    • You can also usually find 32" monitors with those specs for $300~ or less

  • Is this the same one that was reviewd at Hardware unboxed? the so called Kogon/Viotek UW monitor?

    • That one was only 100hz so I believe an older Model. This used old panels but I believe is a refreshed version of their earlier 34 inch models.

      • hmm ok thanks, I'm trying to gauge how bad the black smearing would be.

        • Higher response times are usually a good indicator of black smearing so this one is probably not the best

        • Newer VA panels are now described as IPS-like in marketing and usually that proves true from videos and forum posts I've seen using the little UFO test but if I can't find anything I'd avoid

  • Does not seem to come with a USB-C cable. Can anyone confirm?

    • +1

yep no USBC cable or Displayport cable, only a short HDMI

      • Thanks, that sucks, but at least I know.
