  • How do these compare to AirPods Gen 3 or AirPods Pro Gen 2?

Would they be good for ear protection?

    • i tried these and airpods 2, i found bose way more comfy, ANC on bose is way better, Airpods 2 have wireless charger, and ANC can be disabled.

if you use IOS stick with airpods 2 pro, but if you looking for comfort, sound and ANC, these ones are amazing, with bad connectivity issue ONLY WITH bose music app, otherwise will work amazing with connecting to your device without the app.

      • I have ios and have no problems with the Bose ear buds

      • I have both. I wont even consider them over Airpods Pro 2 even if i was on Android. On iPhone not a chance

      • I respectfully disagree. I have tried both for 1 month+ simultaneously and even thought I was using an Android phone, I found Airpods to be more comfortable and useful day-to-day than Bose.

The only time I found Bose to be better was if I was running thanks to the wings on the Bose. ANC is slightly better but not by much.

I found the lower profile (protrusion from your ear) of airpods really helpful in certain circumstances (eg. On a flight, sitting on the window seat and leaning against the wall) that simply didn't work with the Bose.

    • If you've got iOS devices, Airpods Pro Gen2 would be better.
That said, it depends on what you find comfortable. Some people don't like the tail of the airpods, others don't like the weight/bulk of the Bose.

    • If you’re using iPhone just use AirPods, way better connectivity.

Could say this is the normal price so often nowadays… Don't buy unless its this price or less just like so many other "sales" these days..

      this is the way

  • If anyone got the great refurbish QC buds a few years ago ($80ish), you should be able to get the QC Ultras for $200. I went online looking for support when I was getting a high pitched noise out of them. They were out of warranty obviously but offered me the Ultras for that price. Had to send the old buds back.

    • If your QC2 buds are in warranty, you can send it in to Bose and they’ll replace it with the Ultras for free

      • so you buy qc2
tell bose they have issue and send them back
        bose sends ultra back ?

        • I don’t recommend lying.. but yes in theory that would work.. i just complained about it randomly stopping my music for a second (which is true) and it was exchanged. not a huge upgrade anyway

          • @despavr: based on youtube reviews, qc2 are the better ones compared to ultra.

            • +1

@backupper1: that’s fair .. like i said my ones had an issue and my ultras don’t now so it’s a win for me

            • @backupper1: Which reviews? That seems very peculiar that Bose would release an inferior update to the Bose QCII that is newer and more expensive

    • Replying to my own comment as the deal from 2019 were Soundsport buds not QC.

    • I have sports earbud as well, they don’t let me upgrade. 1-1 change for faulty earbud. How did you go about asking them for a trade up?

      • I just jumped on the chat before Xmas when the Soundsports started acting up. Tried to get a repair. Was told they weren't under warranty. After a bit of acting disappointed she offered me the Ultras for $200.

        • I’ve spoken to 2 support rep. They just offered replacement but not upgrade. No luck 😞

  • Bought some on the last deal. I also have Airpods Pro 2. I would say these compare very favourably. I bought the Bose to try out fully expecting to return them, but was pleasantly surprised, the bass is deeper, the ANC is better, the connectivity has been quite good, and is better with Windows, the Airpods have an issue with Teams and the Bose QC has no issues, very fast to switch devices as well. Sometimes I prefer the Bose, but keep the Airpods for phone calls and to have two wireless earbuds for redundancy

  • I returned it because they were really bulky. I ended up with the Sony LinkBud S.

I’m having charging issues with them

I spoke to Bose, they stopped making these since they started the ultra, I think there will be limited sale on these in the future but this could be lowest to go with without student beans.

and I can confirm that if you have any issue with it no matter how small is it, just online report will offer you right away the free upgrade without even speaking to anyone.

I owned the qc2 for 2 days and I had to pair it nearly 12 times to the music app and I still couldn't finish the settings I wanted, so I reported back expecting to speak to someone but right away they sent me return label and now waiting the ultra to arrive. so I spoke to them and told them it is not a big deal, customer support were top class, and said doesn't matter, I'll get the upgrade.

  • Dont get these if you need to use for meetings in open office areas. The mic picks up every tiny background noise to the point people ask u to go on mute. The ultras are even worse. Though fantastic for just listening to music

  • Getting $399

    • Yes. Same here.
