🍇 Australia always makes excellent Shiraz wine and now also produces amazing crafted Shiraz gin. Let's experience Barossa craftsmanship Shiraz Gin from Greenock Estate Wines! 🍸✨ Aged in the French Barrique barrel for 2- 3 months which originally had Greenock's 100-year-old Shiraz stored, it has extracted the elegance of fine shiraz notes of mulberry, plum and spiced fruit cake characters.

Tasting notes:

Frederick Shiraz Gin - a great deep, rich, reddish-purple red colour. With fresh pine forest juniper notes followed by citrus then raspberry and spice, and it shows plenty of that classic Barossa Shiraz white pepper. The palate is beautifully balanced with both sweetness and gin in spades and spice character on the finish.

Awarded the Great Gold Medal by the International Wine & Spirits Awards 2021. 🏅

Get this exceptional spirit for just $50/bottle (originally $78)! 🎉

These cheeky bastards downsizing liquor bottles to 500ml need to be called out. There's not even a mention of the volume on the website.

Hi, @enricosanchez We appreciate your feedback, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by the lack of information regarding the volume on our website. Now, the volume has been updated on the website.

  • What is a shiraz gin?

    • +1

Kind of depends on who's making it.
Underground Spirits = Gin that gets aged in barrels that had Shiraz wine in it.
What this one looks like is similar to Four Pillars or Big River (and I think a few others these days) where they steep Shiraz grapes in the gin to get the juice (and sugars) into the gin.
I've not tried this one in the deal, but the Four Pillars and Big River shiraz gins are my jam…

Edit: If you've not tried them before, this would not be the entry point at this price. You could just get a bottle of Bloody Shiraz gin for $75 from Uncle Dans which is ~$109/L (which I admit is not cheap at all) compared with the INSANE $128/L of this deal.

      • Thanks for that response, that makes sense. Has piqued my interest enough to order a bottle from the link you shared!

It looks like the Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz does have some grape in it:
The 2020 vintage of Bloody Shiraz contains shiraz grapes that were sourced from wineries in the Yarra Valley region: Punt Road, Boat O’Craigo, Yarra Station and Faraday Estate.

    • Hi @fatal3r, Shiraz Gin is like @astevens said. This gin is aged in a French Barrique barrel for 2-3 months. This barrel had Greenock's 100-year-old Shiraz stored which has extracted the elegance of fine Shiraz notes of mulberry, plum and spiced fruit cake characters. That's why this is not cheap at all.

Ugh I hate this trend of every gin maker getting on to Shiraz gins. Four Pillars hit it out of the park with the Bloody Shiraz now every Tom, Dick and Harry wants to jump on the bandwagon with crappy gins masked behind a single overpowering flavour

    • The Four Pillars didn't grab me (I prefer botanical gins like The Botanist and Mil) but my wife absolutely loved it. The $80/500ml SRD award winning shiraz gin (bought on rare discount) is yum though. They're now cashing in on the award with premium pricing.
