Nvidia RTX 4070/4080 Standard vs Ti/Super

Hey Guys,

i haven't built a computer in 6 years so i am a bit behind with it all as my last PC is a 7700k paired with a rtx1080 still seems to be pretty good.

had an itch to build a PC so i went ahead and bought some parts, my biggest and most expensive part is now working out what GPU to go for.

i have an i9 14900kf with an ASUS ROG Strix Z790-A Gaming WiFi II and 32GB of DDR5 (6400) going with a Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO RGB and Asus ROG RYUJIN III 360 ARGB

definitely want an Asus Rog Strix card to pair with the mobo, unsure if i should be going with a 4070 Super or 4070Ti or a 4070Ti Super or do i wait for the price on a 4080 to drop? (sitting at $1849)

budget is around $1500 for GPU - almost snapped up a 1070 Super last week but they all sold out and NO ETA..

appreciate any comments or help.

Thanks
DrMilan

Never heard of an RTX 1070 or 1080 "Stadnardvsti". Did Nvidia release a limited, ancient Latin edition of those GPUs?

Reminds me of my old Doovde player.

I thought it might be, but then I thought why would you even bother?

Your goal seems to be to spend as much money as possible. "definitely want an Asus Rog Strix card"…why? If you let go of the magical Strix branding, you can go up an entire performance tier for the same price. Your motherboard, CPU cooler, and CPU are all overpriced. If you just want to do an all Asus Rog Strix/most expensive Asus parts build you don't really need to ask for advice, just filter by Asus on a retailer's site and sort by descending price.

    • youre right.. i went with the Asus strix 4080

    • Thanks that’s very helpful!

  • 4080 super
