Uniden iGO 445 at $99.99. I’m not sure how good these are as they seem to be a new model - no reviews online. I thought a sub $100 dash cam from a reputable brand could be useful to some.

      Viofo A119. But this Uniden looks pretty decent to be honest, for $100 don't know why you'd be complaining about it not having all these features. I don't get some people sometimes

    I can't stand Dashcam footage without HDR, it's so much less enjoyable!

      Nothing to do with that. All to do with capturing the incident without motion blur and light flares at night.

    Lots of compression artifacts. In the daytime video, watch the clouds as the street light poles pass in front of them. In high-contrast parts, like speed signs, you can see halos around sharp edges.

    But is there any better available in the same price range, and as easy to return if there is a problem?

    Not sure about ozbargain favourite, but for the family have used different versions/generations of 70mai dashcam, most recently a few a500s units, all older models and newer models have worked fine for me, Some of the packaging comes with a rear camera also, but so far have not bothered installing the rear cams, unable to say anything good or bad about the rear cameras, Over the years bought from Harris Technology, Amazon and Ebay. Never tried viofo, unable to compare..

  Got one last time it was in stock. Heat killed within 6 months, just wouldn't turn on one day. Would not recommend.
