'Time Flies When You're Having Fun' SA Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 $96/12 Pack Delivered ($8/Bottle, RRP US$25) @ Wine Shed Sale

JUICYFRUIT

"A succulent, juicy fruited Cab with oodles of cherry and plum fruit, backed by savory spice, tobacco and mint. Medium-bodied, the focus on the palate is again on the fresh primary fruit. It’s tugged gently by spicy tannins, and a peppery note lingers on the finish. Easy, everyday drinking, particularly by Cabernet
standards. 90 points" Wine Enthusiast, 2022.

"This South Aussie Cabernet is full of upfront flavours. Designed for drinking now, it will surely roll on for quite a few more years, if anyone wants to put some away. Dark magenta in colour, there are earthy notes, bay leaves, cloves, dark berries and a hint of tar. Definitely has that 2020 vintage burliness and strength illustrated by a firm palate, solid tannins and serious grip. A mid-length wine with good concentration and power, it will drink well now and for six years, and is ideal for your next big barbecue. 90 points" Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot 2023

Unfortunately it doesn't make jv go away, trust me I've tried……… hmmmmm might try again tonight too :)

Just popping in to say that Bec Hardy is a super legit winemaker and makes awesome stuff.

Wow. Thanks @OpenHand. Very kind of you to take the time to say so. RD :-)

    • 2nd that Ive just opened my second order from these guys and very happy (3rd order is on its way) for the price these are fantastic wines even for wine snobs etc. and Ive said it before but @RD ADL is not only super helpful on here but very accurate with desciptions etc.

@ozlegacy thanks so much for the kind words. Reflective of our core values of honesty and integrity in all we do and to be Australia's most accessible and responsive wine brands offering great products at a great price/quality ratio :-)

  • Has this got any "oakiness" to it? Or should I look elsewhere? Thanks.

    • +1

Hi @HappyPants - certainly had exposure to oak barrels during the winemaking process but don't expect to be chewing on a plank of wood ;-)
The use of oak has been judicious but according to the critic reviews, there's "burliness, solid tannins and serious grip".
Taste is such a subjective thing it's hard for me to say as I'm not familiar with what you like or don't like. Any red wines you drink regularly? that might help guide me….
      All the best RD :-)

      • Thanks for your reply! This is actually one of my all time fav wines, just in case you are familiar with it.

        https://www.foxcreekwines.com/our-wines/range/vineyard/short…

        • Yes, know the Fox Creek wines very well. Sourced a little from them over the years…. That would certainly have more use of oak than this wine. That's a big wine stylistically. Cheers! RD :-)

          • @RD ADL: Thanks so much for your expertise, still might grab a case of these too. You sound like you deserve all the business you can get. Thanks.

@HappyPants: @HappyPants thanks. Certainly don’t feel obliged. These will certainly be more medium bodied than perhaps what you’re used to. Don’t get me wrong we make that bigger styles to at price points similar to the Fox Creek but these are a tad lighter. Cheers! RD :-)

  • They never disappoint! Ordered thanks

    • @callmekev very kind. Cheers! RD :-)

  • Are you likely to be doing a mixed red/white ie 6 of each, in the near future?

    • +1

Hi @jackspratt a big short of whites at the moment but can try and weave something for you soon. Most of our current exports (the overruns of which make up these OzB deals) are reds, particularly a lot of Cab Sauvs to the US, so not much export whites on the books currently. I’ll try though. Thanks for the suggestion. RD :-)

  • Got delivery today, super keen to try this tonight. Can't believe the price discount.

    • @robinsoa enjoy! Just a little leftiver from an order to Costco US and just moving it along at the wholesale price :-)
