TCN GIFT Gift Cards No Longer Valid at eBay

Went to use a couple of my TCN GIFT cards at eBay….seems to be no longer transferable to eBay.

Which is super annoying as I only purchased them last month and they were working in January. What the hell am I going to buy now! First world problem arising!

        Another Day, Another Gift Card Horror Story.

        It is a reference to the typical nature of forum posts related to gift cards, e.g.:

        • Someone paying for a gift card through the OzBargain forums, then the seller ghosts them.

        • Someone complaining about a random person fraudulently redeeming their gift card.

        • Someone complaining about a gift card not working as expected.

    It is expected as the eBay logo has disappeared on the package long time ago.

    Wow RIP I can confirm that eBay was still working as of 08 Feb 2024, when I converted the remainder of my GIFT.

    My condolences.

    Edit: Just checked the direct conversion link in my email - its dead too.

      I last checked the TCN website on Tuesday night and eBay was still listed there as a participating retailer on the TCN GIFT gift card.

      I reckon eBay was removed either yesterday or today.

        The worst part is that its my own stupid fault for not converting them across straight away.
        Such is life I suppose.

          That is the risk you take when purchasing a multi-retailer gift card, especially when TCN say a participating retailer can be removed (or remove themselves) from a TCN gift card at any time without any prior warning.

          Fingers crossed you can find another way to use up your gift cards that is not too inconvenient.

          if you planned for ebay then swap on the spot, if not, wait and convert when needed. however gift card company is always the winner :)

          ebay gift cards have no secondary pin code, so I think that it is risky that they can be guessed if you aren't using them straight away.

      Replaced with TGG, Kogan, Uber that were not originally on it, less attractive but more options.

    Coles Visa gift cards also not accepted on eBay, tried earlier in the year to make a purchase and it was declined.
