If you want something now, Dune is re released for another week maybe. The only complaint I’ve heard from people really is that the 2.5 hour movie ended too quickly and they wanted more.

Dune 2 is more. They’re meant for the big screen. I’m glad I watched it, I hope others will be too. Sci fi will have a high bar to cross in the next decade.

Are they definitely valid at any Village? The wording on the landing page and purchasing page are a bit conflicting.

To sweeten the deal, we're offering our Werribee customers the opportunity to purchase $25 Gold Class vouchers, or $10 Standard vouchers, for use [at] any of our neighbouring locations, such as Geelong, Crown, or Sunshine.

While we’re closed, we are offering Village Cinemas Werribee customers $10 Adult eVouchers for a limited time only, to experience the biggest blockbusters at nearby Village Cinemas Sunshine, Village Cinemas Geelong, or Village Cinemas Crown.

Valid at Village Cinemas VIC: Airport West, Century City Walk, Coburg, Crown, Doncaster, Fountain Gate, Geelong, Jam Factory, Karingal, Knox, M-City, Morwell, Plenty Valley, Rivoli, Shepparton, Southland, Sunshine or TAS: Eastlands, Glenorchy, Hobart, Launceston. Village Cinemas locations are subject to change. (T+C's: Standard Adult eVoucher - Werribee)

Can someone who's bought them please confirm the T&Cs in the eVoucher they receive?

Thank you. Still wondering though, it says "…at participating Village Cinemas locations.*" and lists them all out, but just because it's valid at those sites, what if those sites aren't "participating"? Anything on the eVouchers that make them look like they're only valid at the neighbouring sites?

Otherwise I'm not sure why they would emphasise those three sites, and it doesn't make sense they'd be valid at every Village because of that site closure. Curious to see if people are able to redeem these other locations, maybe I'm overthinking it.

        • +4

Without finalising a booking, it allows me enter a code for a random movie I chose showing at Knox cinemas later tonight. If Knox wasn't a participating cinema you'd think it would throw up an error.

My Gold Class wording basically says the same:
"This promotional voucher is valid for one Vrewards member Gold Class movie session admission. Voucher can be redeemed online at
villagecinemas.com.au or at the ticket box for movie sessions screening between Thursday 15 February 2024 to Saturday 31 August 2024 at

Patrons must be 18 years or older to consume alcohol.
ID will be required. A surcharge applies for 3D sessions. Booking fees may apply. It is the responsibility of the holder to redeem vouchers for a movie session scheduled on or before they expire.

Based on past purchases, the PDF file I got for the tickets is the same generic style I have had for past ones and they will apply to any other participating Village cinema.

          • @danielh: Thanks! So it seems like they're valid anywhere.

          • @danielh: Can you book 2 vouchers Gold Class at the same time? I mean with the same online membership account?

It's been long time since I've used vouchers.

    • +1

My read is they are valid anywhere Vic/Tas til August but when Werribee opens after that they're only valid there…

  • +2

Amazing that's less than half price i got 4

  • Nice deal OP thanks

  • The problem with Village is that the parking costs in their inner city locations kills the deal. I live in Malvern so Jam Factory is closest to me - parking there is $7 for up to 3 hours. Meanwhile I can go to Hoyts in Richmond (Victoria Gardens) and get FREE parking after validation. Or I can go to Hoyts Chadstone and get free parking there too. That being said, I have been lucky in the past and managed to get free street parking at Jam Factory, but it's a big gamble (and highly dependent on time of day).

    • +5

Their inner city locations are easily accessible by public transport from the inner city.

Most people who live in the CBD don't expect to get everywhere by driving. Once you get outside the inner city suburbs all of the locations have parking.

      • -1

Yes true, but public transport is a complete rip off at $10.60 for full fare daily. Cheaper to drive, pay for parking, petrol, and still have change left over.

    • Go to Southland or M-City

      • -5

M City sucks as a cinema. The layout of their theatre is wrong

        • +3

          I like M City cinema's.

          The parking is fantastic too.

          • +2

@JimB: I also love M-City, the seats are so comfortable and it's never busy.

      • -1

But why go the extra distance when Hoyts is closer?

    • Jam Factory parking is pretty easy I thought. It is free after 6pm and if you get there at 5pm (1 hour parking on Chapel St) then you are set for the rest of the night. Even easier if you go down some of the side streets.
That being said, I did not even know that the Jam Factory Village was still open?!?! Walking past that place, it looks like it is under construction. I assume the back part must still be open for the cinema.

      • +1

You are correct. I live just near Jam Factory and there are some places to park in the side streets just near that are always available.

    • cries in Sydney parking prices

  • -1

This is a deal? Reading regular prices are less than this.

    • How and where?

      • Reading Dandenong is $10 or $11, can't remember exactly.

    • My reading is $16? Where is cheaper than $10?

      • Only place I can think of is Metro Boronia, which is $9, but you have to pay a $20 per year membership to access this pricing (pays for itself after 5 tickets and you get 2 BOGOF ticket offers).

  • Thank you. Hope good movies are on its way in next 6 months

    • +2

Dune 2 and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire are on my list.

      • +1

I want to watch dune 2 only in hoyts, village cinemas in Vic can't match doubt sound that hoyts has.
But godzilla x kong will do 😊

        • +1

I'm in Tasmania, never experienced Hoyts before sadly 🥹 No IMAX down here too.

        • +1

          Dolby atmos*

  • +7

Once u tried recliners at Hoyt’s you ain’t going back to village. Even reading have recliner and larger seats where I am.

    • Really depends. Village seats aren't that bad, they're still comfortable and IMO Village has better popcorn. Hoyts popcorn is cold and bland.

  • Good spot great deal - even better than buying off SB

  • Thanks! Bought regular. Is gold class worth $25?

  • Thanks OP, seems they didn't bother to do anything other than cheap standard e-vouchers that are valid everywhere lol

  • Anyone know if I can use my village $100 gift card to buy this?

    • I just tried as I also have a gift card but payment methods are only debit and credit card or Paypal.

    • If they allowed you to buy vouchers with gift cards, it would be a way to extend the validity of your existing gift card, so no surprise they block this.

  • Does anyone know whether we can pay extra to "upgrade" to vmax? Thanks

    • Yes. I just tried. $3.60 upgrade fee.

      • Awesome!! Thanks so much
