Western Digital Live 3TB NAS $200 +Shipping

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Western Digital 3tb NAS on special shoppingsquare.com.au $200 plus P&H. Officeworks price matched $10 off. Bought giftcards at officeworks using ING visa paywave with 5% rebate. Cost around $181, work out less than what I paid Amazon last June to have the unit shipped here from USA.

Mod, feel free to delete post or move to forum

  • much better to buy from office works rather than shoppingsquare

    • Without a doubt, particularly if you want it this year, or at all going by some recent reports.

      • What do you mean? Should we not be buying this or waiting a while for some new product? Interested as i'm considering purchasing the 3tb NAS

        • He is referring to ShoppingSquare, because recent reports indicate they have terrible shipping service, meaning you might not get it this year, if at all, if you buy from them.

    • Works out $35 cheaper and for the 3yr warranty, it is better to get it from officeworks. The price match did not include P&H. My receipt was for $190.

  • What's the power consumption for this? I might use the N40L for XMBC (and turn on when only needed) and use this for PC storage (24/7).

    • it uses those little power packs, and there is a power save option in the settings. when there is no network activity, the drive goes to sleep. so it is important to consider this if you plan to plug it into a busy router/switch

      • Would you have any wattage numbers by any chance? If it's similar power consumption to the N40L in comparison, I might just put a 3TB in that instead and leave it on 24/7.

Thanks! Bought one at JB Hifi for the same price after presenting your receipt!

    • Glad someone find this useful

  • I'm not sure why they would call a town with over 75000 people and a major highway crossing straight through (plus an international marina) a remote area. Charging $44,- for shipping to this place is nothing but a disgusting rip off! Regional yes, remote absolutely not!
