On sale are 5 different USB hubs that are designed to clamp onto the monitor or desk and quite similar to the Orico one popular years ago. The adjustable bolt can clamp onto anything with thickness between 10-32mm, the hub is made from aluminum alloy and they have a USB-C port on the back for providing extra power if needed.

I personally use a couple of these on all my desks so I don't have to reach below under my desk to plug something in.

Prices below for each different variant available on the listing.

  • I personally use a couple of these on all my desks

How many desks do you have?

    • +12

I'm going to hazard a guess and say at least 2 desks.

        Clear has n desks
        Where n > 1

      • I genuinely had a mega desk when I was in a sharehouse in undergrad. It did include three desks but they weren't stacked vertically like Jim's.

        I miss that mega desk.

  • this is a pretty novel design i must say

Designers just hanging on, one of their vices. They should really get a grip and stop screwing around.

        Loosen up dude.

Need to clamp down on these puns.

Hmmm, probably TOO cheap for my liking. Wonder how much / quality of protection circuitry is included. Last thing I want to do is blow the port on my laptop.

I bought a well reviewed usb-c hub not long ago (shipped/sold by Amazon) that would spontaneously unmount the sd card. this would happen 3 or 4 times over half an hour

I can sell mine for $89.50

    • Hey this is a premium item, there's a hub there for 76 cents. I'd order one but I'd probably end up with another cucumber peeler.

    • I find powered hubs of any price more reliable than Dell desktops for providing sufficient USB bus-power to devices. This is particularly true for USB3 cameras running at 5Gb/s when used for real-time control systems.

(Pic showing clamping this to the monitor ot tv)

    I. Don't. Think. So.

    • Depending on the thickness of your tv or monitor. I cannot see why not?

  • If you set your currency to AUD on the app and website, the price comes down. Paid $12.09 for the 2 USB + 2USB C

  • Careful - spin your chair around to talk to someone, crunch your usb device.

I have done this with a pc that was flush to the front of the desk so usb drives stuck out.

  • Does this use a non-standard cable to connect the hub to the PC?
So you can't use your own length cable?

    • Looks like a standard but rare USB A male to USB A male cable.

      • +2

Full size USB A to A is not standard, and should never exist.

They're used for a lot of cheap 1x pci extensions, but they still shouldn't exist.

        • +1

A to A is fine, provided it's male to female. A male to A male however is not standard.

        • I shouldn't have said standard, as you are correct, but they aren't super rare so you can buy them in different lengths.

    • +1

Every variant of this style of dock I have ever seen has used the non-standard cable, despite there being no good reason for it.

  • +2

This looked cool, too bad it's sold out.
