[QLD] Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD MY23 (Old Model, Less than 50km on Odometer) $63,570 + On-Road Cost @ Tesla

2620

Prices are going Down Down Down @ Tesla

With rebates in some states this makes a good enough car with good range specially that can go from 0-100 in 4.4 seconds if that's what tickles you. Me personally would not buy anything that's not LFP.

Please note this is not the Highland which is MY23.5

What is it with OzBargain and the absolute hatred for Tesla and/or EVs?
People get so unbelievably volatile when these posts are put up.

    • +8

The big oil lobby and Toyota is very active with spreading their lies and slander of EVs to the general public with fear about EV Fires (0.0012% compare to 0.1% of ICE Fires), Lack of charging infrastructure then simultaneously pushing for Hydrogen (we have 1 station in Australia). The brain dead zealots with no critical thinking ability plagues our society. As for Tesla It's because the polarisation of Elon's character.

      • I had a jackass tell me to my face the other day that he deliberately cuts off Tesla's in traffic because he hates electric cars.

        • +1

Provide the footage to the police for dangerous driving. Won’t take them long to change their habits!

    • +2

      Rednecks hate EVs.
      Greenies hate Musk.

    • +1

they cant afford it = hate
I wouldn't be surprised if many of them key them in parking lots, lines up with their comments tbh
great thing it has sentry, they will be caught out.w

had my ev now for just under a year and love it
Ive only had one incident where i couldn't charge but thats cause i live in an apartment. Knew what i was getting myself into
Local shopping complex has a desintation charger so i get free charges while i shop or workout.

      • +2

I dunno, many of the people that hate them drive lifted land cruisers or massive yank trucks that cost the same or more. Just culture war bs as usual.

  • probably these are test pilot drives to train the software

  • +4

I drive a Suzuki Swift 1.4L ICE. I have no pangs of guilt preventing me from going about my day.

    • -2

my pedal bike goes faster than a swift, worst cars ever
been stuck behind them trying to get to the speed limit and they take forever
super dangerous when they cant get to 100kmph with ease and they cause a massive traffic rubber banding

      • +4

They're no slower than most other small hatches, it's just that most people driving them aren't the red light racer type. Maybe learn some patience instead of expecting other people to rev to redline after every stop.

        • -1

never said rev to redline, its get to the speed limit faster instead of taking all the way till it gets to the next light.

      • -1

How to say you're a (profanity) without saying you're a (profanity) lol. Nothing more dangerous than an impatient driver.

        • -1

          i found the crappy driver
how about you dont take 10 minutes to get to the speed limit?

  • +3

so shady to add an "order fee" of $400 and a delivery fee of $1400 on top of the price. Almost all other car brands advertise Drive Away Price.

After all their fees and then on-roads, its $67,286

    • +1

Tesla doesn’t have a dealer service. You buy from them directly and it a different price based on location. If you go to order it’s very clear on the website what the driveway price is for your location. I do agree about order and delivery although apparently it’s not included on fleet orders though so maybe that’s why…

    • +2

Order fee (non-refundable) is indeed BS.

What is more BS is their Price after savings* which is actually some arbitrary price they pluck against an ICE. That should be removed.

      • -2

        dont buy it then?

  • +1

Any new or upcoming EV for $33k drive away? Guess my only hope is BYD seagull……

    • Yeah except they'll just push up the price of the existing models here and slot it in where the dolphin is now 😜

    • +1

      If you're in Qld, yes:

2024 GWM Ora is $37k - $6k rebate to be $31k drive away

      2024 BYD Dolphin is $40k - $6k to $34k drive away

      • That’s nice. Too bad I am in WA

  • If only I owned 5 investment properties I could afford to buy a Tesla to show everyone I finally made it

    • +5

you do know many 4wds on the road or even ford rangers cost the same if not more?

  • If you haven't been frightened off by range anxiety, charger congestion, battery immolation or disastrous depreciation, then why not?? And then, could I interest you in some only slightly used crypto .. 😂 .. ?? !!

  • Great price for the long range.

  • +2

Do they come with "I think Elon sucks, don't judge me" stickers?

  • +2

These older models are better equipped than the new ones. They have USS, gear stalks and indicator stalks and a higher ride height.

The newer models have ventilated seats and a rear screen but I'd rather have the indicator stalks because I'd be using them much more often than a rear screen.

    • +1

Rear screen can be installed in around 10 minutes on the older version. Plug and play.

  • With Bargainhuntress putting Elon in jail what will the future bring?

  • +4

I wonder how this affects used prices of this particular model?

Oh dear RIP used sellers. Old matey with $78k asking for a used 2022. Maybe his farts embedded in the seats are worth over $10k

    • +2

to be fair though, this happens in all cars. I bought a brand new Mitsubishi for about $20k less than the launch price due to some heavy discounting by the manufacturer. This decimates used values. But owners who bought at the top often don't realise and get a nasty surprise when they do their research.

      • +1

This also. Sold my Nissan 4 years later with 30k on the clock at the same price I bought it new.

  • -6

Will this tow my caravan and jet ski?

    • +4

I have no issues towing a caravan or boat with mine.

      • +2

dont bother explaining facts to anti ev nuts, they will find a way to disprove you even when you can prove them wrong. its pathetic

        • +2

I just think they're genuinely dumb and have no idea how anything works which is really unfortunate.

    • +4

looking at your post history you seem to hate evs and anything battery related

make sure you throw away your phone and laptop please
That iphone doing you wonders huh? wonder if they make a petrol powered iphone

    • As long as you dont go too far because the range is reduced a fair bit. Youll also need to unhook your caravan for a while to re-charge along the way.

  • +2

I'd have one if you gave me one.

Wish the batteries were not so integrated into the construction of the car just a concern 10-20 years from now they might be wrecked instead of keeping on the road due to labour costs of changing the battery over.

If someone can come up with a battery thats considerably smaller that could be changed over on the side of the road if necessary like several 15 kilogram batteries slotted into the side of the ev (like giant d cells).

Regional Australia, Africa, Middle east etc would look more favourable on uptake of evs.

The financial implications for the low to medium in actually having money to buy a ev as well as lack of infrastructure in regional Australia is not really understood or cared about by ev supporters.

    • +2

12 years ago Model S cost $150k+ with 250-300km range, now for $40k you can get one that does 350-400km range. Mass adaption has started and battery tech will progress by leaps and bounds, the price of EV will also drop even further. 1000km range EVs are starting to be out in China. i would say 1000km EV batteries will be widely available in 5 yrs time.

      • -2

There really hasn't been any improvement in battery tech so no, that isn't going to happen.

  • -1

Does it come in a premium gasoline option?

  • Thx ozB. Learning a lot about EV from your discussion here. Not planning to get any EV until EV ute is out.

    • +2

There's the eT60… Imo overpriced and under delivers.

I'd wait a few more months

      • Thx for the info, i will check it out.

    • -6

Don't do it you'll have big regrets, as soon as they are under load they basically have 1km range lol.

    • -1

There's the cybertruck but that apparently rusts real easy.

    • +1

BYD ute is coming this year

  • -5

EV will never be big in Australia.

  • That is a good price if you need the extra range of the LR or really want the indicator stalk. Most people don't need the LR though so the Highland RWD is only slightly more expensive and a significantly better car
