USE CODE: 100OFFYOURSHIRAZ

This premium Shiraz delivers an indulgent and velvety experience, boasting luscious layers of blackberry, dark chocolate, and subtle smoky oak notes. Its full-bodied palate and seamlessly integrated tannins lead to a prolonged, gratifying finish!

Rated 95pts and 5 Stars by leading wine writer Sam Kim

"Superbly ripe and inviting, the bouquet shows mixed berry compote, vanilla, cedar and warm spice aromas on the nose, leading to a wonderfully flavoursome palate offering excellent fruit intensity backed by silky texture and supple tannins."

Gold Medal

If seeking a strongly regional shiraz at an affordable price, one could do far worse than this: lilac, smoked meat, black-olive tapenade and blueberry. Aromatic, richly flavoured and is the mark here, oaky.
90pts James Halliday

  • is this good? worth the $40 price?

  • +4

if one reviewer rates it 95 and one 90, i wouldn't advertise it as 95.

    Doubt RRP is 480

    • Especially when that 95 rating doesn't even appear to be for this vintage.

      Reviewer's words on 2018 Vintage

      • The review out of Halliday is:
"If seeking a strongly regional shiraz at an affordable price, one could do far worse than this: lilac, smoked meat, black-olive tapenade and blueberry. Aromatic, richly flavoured and is the mark here, oaky. But it all works fine."

        "Drink by 2025" apparently?

Sounds like a mid-wine and, at $10 a bottle, it's probably fine. You could do better but you could probably do worse too…

Edit - Just for completion, while you're right that Sam Kim reviewed the 2018 vintage and gave it 95, Halliday & Co gave that one 91, saying "It's a sound, solid shiraz built on plum and redcurrant flavours but helped along by creamy vanillin and peppercorn aspects. It's a reliable if unexciting offering."
Might not be too much between the vintages?

It also has a Gold and 95pts from the 2022 Cairns Wine Awards

Ahh Cairns, the wine capital of Australia.

  • What is the wine?

Just answered my own question, Ulithorne Dona Shiraz 2019

      • Well, if it is, Uncle Dan is selling the 2018 vintage for $21.99.

        • For that money you just get pepperjack, a good and honest shiraz or cab sav.

          • +5

@smurfy: Pepperjack just isn't worth it these days. Any $20 shiraz from vinomofo is gonna be much better value.

@accompanimince: Perhaps. Was a while since i had it last time. Became too mainstream for me.

Ulithorne. That is just getting hammered out at the moment on so many deals. the parent company CW wines must be sitting on so much stock.

  • Purchased their hidden deal for 2019 shiraz and they stated it is $60 dollars somewhere in the jungle but it was a 9-10 dollars avarage (checked with vivino). Thats why they are hiding their product to create an illusion.

The wine was very fruity ( kinda like juice, lacks charachter and body)

Do not fall for hidden ones guys.

    • Do your due dilligence and decide for yourself is my advice. Last deal was ok, but this one i'll pass up. Reviews are less than flattering for this drop.

      • I just do not appriciate the false advertisement. They stated the price of each was $60 (well i was expecting at least $20 to be realistic) and hide the name or brand which is not very honest i think. Maybe some other batches are good but just do not like their style.
        Cheers

        • Hi, are you referring to this listing?

Wondering what wine it actually is?

  • Appears to be Dona Shiraz 2019.

Under half the best price you will find anywhere else.

I would jump on this but I already have far too much Shiraz. Now if it was the GSM …
