On 12 October this year I was in the process of ordering some goods from Catch of the Day. When I got to the last step of confirming the order there was a failure of the ordering system. The automated message said to try gain a little bit later. Being rather paranoid about internet transactions. I waited for at least 20 minutes for any indication from either my online Bank account, my email or my Catch of the Day profile that the purchase had actually been successful. On the basis that the purchase appeared to be unsuccessful I re-ordered successfully.
On 15 October I checked my Visa account, and to my shock and horror, I discovered that I had been billed twice for the purchase. I sent an email to Catch of the Day Help Desk and, almost immediately, got an automated response back indicating that my support request had been logged and that I would get a response within the next 2 working days.
I have subsequently sent update messages back to Catch of the Day on 18 October and 22 October and 30 October 2012 asking for an update on my request and have received nothing back from the company.
I have found this whole process very unsatisfactory and I am now rather reluctant to deal with this company again (unless I get a satisfactory resolution soon).
I am interested to hear from anyone who might have had a similar incident with this company.
