Keep in mind, the pre-out pictured on the site may be misleading. This may only apply to the US version. If you look at the same model from other Aus resellers, there are no pre-outs.

  • Would the amp match up nicely to my $90000 speaker system?

    • +1

It's recommended to power the Focal Grande Utopia EM evo speakers.

      • I don't think 80w is ideal. I have 100w now with my Yamaha and would probably notice the difference.

  • +1

Be even better if it was 100W per channel instead of 80W.

    Thanks anyway OP.

  • It's 80 watts for a 2 channel setup, right? Wonder how much watts are actually there when using 7 channels? Anyone in the know?

  • Was almost an instant buy until I figured out it's less w/channel than my current one. :(

  • Can I connect my Sonos Arc and sub to this? Would it be of any benefit?

  • Damn. Great price. Just paid $895 for it with an eBay discount - which I was (previously) happy with.

  • Good or bad for my polk rti-a9 fronts and polk rears?

Need to begin upgrading my theatre to 4K

    • +1

      Underpowered for A9s at 8ohm.

I mean, it'd work but you wouldn't be giving full potential to the speakers.

I have lower tier Polks (Monitor XTs) and I'm not even entertaining the idea of this because my current 4K receiver is a higher wattage per channel, and it has been updated enough that HDR and Dolby Vision even work flawlessly. Only features I'm missing is 120Hz, VRR and ALLM, which is sidestepped by plugging the devices into the TV instead.

That being said since you are stuck at 1080p, for the cost, you won't get any better in the 4K/8K world than this.

      • I have the 1700H powering the Rti A3 and it struggles. Its good for a small room and it's selling point it's the latest codecs and connectivity

    • You don't cheap out on the amp esp with those speakers. You'll blow them using this amp. If you want to drive them well, you need at least a $1500+ receiver. I would recommend over $2K amp

  • Damn. Great price. Have no idea what this is.

  • No deals on a book shelf style speaker kit for it? Also am I crazy to just get a 5.1 speaker package?

  • Page has been removed from TGG. Looks like it was a pricing error after all.

  • Not purchasable anymore

  • Does anyone know if this amp would be good for a pair of Castle Knight 4s and a Rel T7 sub?
It's would be to replace an old Marantz sr5007 that is on it's way out.
    Thanks!

  • Now to wait for the apology and refund emails!!

  • Just got an email saying it’s on its way

    • when did u order yours ? mine still says awaiting picking.

      • 9:11pm last night

        • strange, i ordered mine before yours and havent got any confirmation yet. :(

does it show up in tracking yet ?

          • @mengy: Status Description: We have despatched your product.

@xdpx: im in the same boat.. i did mine at 6pm and still no despatch update.. only that order is being 'processed'

mine is for QLD, perhaps other states are getting theirs confirmed quicker due to stock levels in the state ?

        • I bought mine at 2115, current status is awaiting picking (QLD). Fingers crossed 🤞

          -edit, grammar-

            • +1

              @xdpx: what state/postcode are you ?

mine is still "Status Description: Your product is awaiting picking. Check back later for an update."

              • @mengy: I’m in the same boat, QLD, 4163

                • @Lionheart: rang GG. Our orders (4163) needs to be picked from Loganholme.

They have no stock, so it needs to be transferred from the warehouse (from Melb) before it can be shipped from the store for home delivery. In saying that, we probably wont see a tracking number till end of week at earliest :(.

Those that have tracking number already must've had stock nearby.

                  • @mengy: Thanks for the info, I rather pay for shipping (which I did) than drive all that way, yuck, if it takes time that’s all good as long as we get the product

  • Damn, I paid $920 for the X1700 six months ago and thought that was a bargain at the time. No way that wasn't a mistake, the 1800 at ~$1000 is a steal let alone $675.

    • X1800H is at $1000 for a while. TGG probably made a mistake on the price. We will see how it goes pretty soon.

      • I worded it really badly…I was trying to say that yeah, $675 would have to be a mistake for the X1800. Very happy with my X1700, I didn't need 8K and it works with my 5.2.1 Atmos setup brilliantly.

  • Not looking good? checked my order just now and it has no product in the order summary. Product page is gone. I got my order in at 09:40 today……Be kinda annoyed if not honoured.

    • +1

Don't be too disappointed if they do not warrant the purchase. I have the previous 1700H and it's nothing special. Good for a small room at best. If they do then enjoy!

      • It's just got to be better than my Yamaha VSX-1020, not sure how I will live without the iPod connectivity tho LOL.

Actually looks like it shipped from my local store, despite not being able to click and collect due to zero stock 🤷‍♂️

        • You mean the Pioneer VSX 1020. Your amp actually is better and has more power. The only thing is that it doesn't support all the new whiz-bang 4K/8K HDMI connectivity and support for new apps. Although you can add a wireless module to your amp (Yamaha YWA-10 or Pioneer ASWL-300). The pioneer app will control your receiver however it is old, choppy and not updated for years. You can still get sound from a 4K TV by input all HDMI connections to the TV and the "Main" HDMI to your amp. But it'll be only 2.1 channels

  • can this drive subs?

    • Yes it can, however you need an active Subwoofer LFE (RCA) input. All late AV receivers have this so nothing new.

  • Mine is saying processed & allocated in the header so looking good so far. $709.00 delivered.
Now I just need a speaker package to go with it. Any suggestions for bargains to look out for, $1K to $1.5K max.
I know nothing about this sh#t, just seen "Damn good price" and pulled the trigger.
    Damn, I hope it good.

    • I saw some retailers paring it with Polk speakers.

      https://www.selby.com.au/price-promise/denon-polk-pack-j1.ht…

    • Aim to have a better speaker package than the amp. So when the amp gets older, you just change the amp and still keep the speakers, rather than upgrading everything. With $1.5K, i would just invest on front speakers and build as you go. Brands like Polk, Klipsch are decent for the money. Talk the stereo AV joints like Selby, Big Picture People etc, and they'll steer you towards the right direction.

Ordered mine at 7:34pm on Tuesday 27/02 and it's just arrived at 11:02am on Thursday 29/02.

    I'm in shock.

  • My tracking is bonkers, one second it’s OOS 15 mins from my house (Capalaba) then it’s being sent from Capalaba to Brisbane airport, no idea what’s going on, might have to email tracking company

    • Someone mentioned that the Good Guys pictures were incorrect (it was showing the 120v version with the extra pre-outs).

  • I think they are now OSS—mian showing back-ordered. I rang and asked for the ATA, she said mid to end march but not sure if it is coming in stock.

  • Just received refund for mine. Disappointing

    • +1

Shit when did you order and are you in QLD?

I ordered at16:30 on the day the deal was posted but still sitting at awaiting picking

      • On the same boat too. Will see how TGG goes next week.

      • I ordered in Perth on the same day it popped up

        • Ordered 7pm Perth time. There was only stock in Mandurah so went with delivery.
My status is awaiting picking enroute from supplier.

  • Mine just got delivered

    • Nice one mate.

I ordered before you, but mine is still waiting to be picked :(

      Hope it doesn’t get refunded.

      • Update : Just checked tracking again and it now shows delivery for 12th March :). Happy Days!

        • Happy for ya mate

  • In nsw, ordered on the 27/02. Order had said awaiting picking in the track my order link. Now says "on order" with an uption to upfate order which requests a call for an update in the order.

    Not looking great

    • Same situation here (regional NSW), ordered 27/02 just after the deal was posted. Order status now "on order".
Hopefully they are just awaiting some additional stock, fingers crossed anyway 🙂

Did you change the impedance setting on the AVR.
