I usually check dashcamtalk for reviews. If it's not recommended on there I wouldn't buy it.

I'm a regular contributor to DCT.

This dashcam is fake 4k, sensor is interpolated to make it appear 4k resolution but it isn't. Sure, it might work ok but it's nothing compared to the big boys like Viofo or Blackvue or Thinkware etc.

      • Got any lower end/bargain recommendations? (apologies if this is on the site, I am at work and can't access it)

        • Same question, interested in a decent, low, budget option

Viofo A119 v3 if you can still find it (below 100 bucks) and you're on an absolute budget, but the current bargain model I would say is either the Viofo A119 Mini 2 or Viofo VS1.

Can't go wrong with either with Starvis 2 sensor.

      • I'm really after a budget front and rear dashcam and one with screen as the rear visibility of my hatch is terrible. I found a redtiger f7n on Facebook marketplace for $90 do you think this is a decent option. I noticed the redtiger is 3.15" screen so that's a plus if using as a reversing camera (assuming if u use it that way). Any advice?

        • If it says it's 4k it isn't it's fake 4k. Screen won't be used as a reversing camera, only for rear channel display if the rear camera is connected. Sorry mean to say that using that as reversing camera is too small and potentially risky safety wise

          • @adrianhughes1998: Thanks mate. Yep I'm aware 4k on this is 2k, from what I see on DCT it says its decent for 2k camera. Currently I dont have a reversing camera so thought that, even though small, aslong as it displays the rear camera view when selected, it would be better than my current situation. Let me know your thoughts. For $90 it seems to fit my needs.
