Decent for a decent phone, despite being older. Reminder no more iOS version updates - I'm unsure re security updates though.
My partner gave her old iphone 8 to her mum after she updated to a pixel, and got a battery replacement before the battery price hike so basically brand new phone for their use.

Great for a motorbike on a wireless holder, not to pricey if it flies off, mine hasn’t yet, tried a similar deal not long ago, were quite slow to refund cos of no stock so mite want to call local store for availability
The problem mounting a phone on a motorbike is that over time it destroys any camera with OIS.
Nice phones these. Is the 2GB RAM still OK for IOS?
And could these be US model imports, lacking the important band 28, like the XS Coles was selling?

You'll need a much more sophisticated damping system than just a piece of foam padding :-)
Much easier and cheaper to use an old phone, either without OIS, or a camera you don't care about.
With Android, you can run Android Auto using an app on a phone or tablet. So your real phone stays safe in your pocket, but you get maps etc displayed on the mounted phone. Is there any equivalent for IOS?
My cam is fine, but wouldn’t care anyway, strictly for music and navigation and is on a data only plan, don’t want my pricey main phone at risk so stays in my pocket, don’t think too many would be buying iphone 8 for the camera quality, as far as i know is one of the cheapest wireless charge phones going which is why I bought even though not from coles

Seems a tad expensive for iPhone 8. I nabbed two iPhone XR (2021 manufacture date) for $170 - lucky deal for me.

Caution if planning to pair with an Apple Watch….not able to update to the minimum iOS required to pair.
Upgraded wife's iPhone 8 last night to an iPhone 14. iPhone 8 was connected to Apple Watch with OS 9.6.3. Was able to upgrade watch to v10 once paired with iPhone 14. Havent tried connecting watch back to iPhone 8.

Mine just arrived. Phone looks almost new to be honest. No scratches on the screen really even. 100% battery health. Even came with a braided lightning cable and 10W USB-A charger. Ended up with a Silver colour. Good as a backup phone for $129…
