    good find.

    • Thx :)

  • $100 Slurpees?

    2.5% < $100

    • Alternatively a few litres of petrol (at least it feels that way).

  • -1

    It's a visa card
So you can use it anywhere

    • You should be able to use it at any petrol station.

    • Even outside of 7eleven?

      • -2

Most likely not aha, will only work with 7-eleven, but feel free to try.
It's like those Ultimate Cards, vendor-specific.

        • Nah, see here. It depends on the MCC code like WookieMonster has explained to me below.

        • My Canberra friend has tried at other servos and it works :)

  • I supposed mixed payment is allowed if the gift card balance is insufficient, yeah?

    • +1

Should be fine, just ask the cashier to do split payment.
I did it last time fuelling up, but I guess it depends on how the cashier responds to your request then lol

      • do they have a chocie to say no if you have filled up the tank :)

        • +1

I had the worst experience at one 7-11 servo a couple of weeks ago. Filled up my tank and wanted to use two separate gift cards to pay. Got told no, had to pay with cash +1 gift card. Could not use Credit card + gift card because they only accept one card at a time. So silly…

    • I tried a few times to ask for mixed payment when I filled up with 7-11 they say no.

Kinda of ended with like 0.02 -0.05 left on my 7-11 giftcard and unable to use it up.

  • So… I can use this VISA card ANYWHERE.. right?

    • Any petrol station. If it worked anywhere this deal would be very popular.

cool, thanks for clarifying. still good to save 4% on petrol

This gift card can be used at merchants accepting Visa prepaid gift cards as a payment method and using the following MCCs:

      • MCC 5541: Service Stations (with or without Ancillary Services)
      • MCC 5499: Miscellaneous Food Stores - Convenience Stores, Markets, Specialty Stores

@trixieb has previously used this gift card at Shell Coles Express service stations.

However, not all service stations would accept this gift card. I explain the reasons for this in more detail here.

So everyone just gonna ignore that this is a dupe?

    • +2

Not everyone, 3 people reported as dupe so far, BUT! The previous deal expired 2 days ago 29th Feb, 11:59pm

  • Getting declined payments when trying to pay at 7-11. But had successful transaction in the past using the same 7-11 gift card.
Not sure what it could be.

  • +2

Won’t bother with these anymore after the 25c/L cap

  • +3

    PSA -

can be used in any petrol station - so effectively 4% off on top of whatever discounts you use (shell, mynrma, woolies etc.)

can also be used for myki recharge in victoria - so effectively 4% off public transport

Not sure if this is an extension of the previous deal where it was also limited to 1 card per person; my initial impression was that it was 1 card per person per day because I was able to purchase one again today, but it could well be a new deal that limits to 1 card per person total

  • +2

    Thanks, worked at Coles Express

  • Would anyone know how to stack this with hsbc 2% cash back on transactions? Would it work if I just paid using my hsbc card?

    • +1

Would not stack. For HSBC's 2% cashback, it only works for POS transactions where you tap your physical card / Apple Pay / Samsung Pay / Google Pay through PayWave.

  • Could I use that to top up my OPAL?

  • I tried topping up myki with this and declined

  • Has anyone tried this card at BP servo?

  • trying to add this to apple pay gives an error: check your card details, does anyone else have this problem?

    • Nope, I have no issues adding the card in my apple wallet. What error does it give you? Were you connected to the internet whilist trying to add that card?

      • apple pay gives an error: check your card details

    • Saw this in a previous deal about the same card, might help you

put through as a credit card, not a gift card payment at the register

      • i added it to google wallet after multiple add fails in apple pay

    • Paid with apple pay, worked fine for me

  • I don't use any mobile wallet or such…is there any way to use this digital card on its own rather than using the wallet?

    • You can use it online or through an app at merchants using the permitted MCCs, but it would depend upon whether merchants would accept prepaid Visa gift cards online (and that is not guaranteed, as some merchants require cards being used on their website or app to support security features not found on prepaid Visa gift cards, e.g. 3-D Secure). For example, I have no idea if Ampol FuelPay, EG Pay At Pump, BPme or similar app payment options at service stations actually accept prepaid Visa gift cards as a payment method (or use a permitted MCC).

In theory, you could also go in-person to a merchant and ask to do a MOTO (mail order / telephone order) transaction, but a merchant may not be capable (or willing) of accepting a prepaid Visa gift card through a MOTO transaction, particularly since MOTO transactions increase a merchant’s exposure to potentially fraudulent transactions.

      • Thanks. I am not entirely sure how MOTO works but appears without adding these to some sort of e wallet we will not be able to use it. I guess adding it to e wallet will give a max opportunity to spend it.

  • I can confirm this card works at Ampol and X Convenience (For SA residents), emptied my balance to $0!

Staff at Ampol allowed me to split payment with GCs + 7-Eleven VISA Fuel Card.

    Happy Days!
