Recommend a Good Sydney Buffet Breakfast?

Need an updated recommendation of a good weekday buffet breakfast in Sydney, has anyone been to any recently?

Any deals appreciated of course.

Many closed down during covid or became streamlined, so wanting updated reviews, hard to find them atm.

Only looked into the Hilton at $52pp at the Glass Brasserie so far.

Doesn't have to be CBD, west or anywhere would be fine.

Not so keen on the casinos and their prices, but somewhere rivalling them would be great.

Or suggestions of fancy breakfast places that could be better than a buffet?

Only looked into the Hilton at $52pp at the Glass Brasserie so far.

You can order a pretty good breakfast feed for $52 at just about any place and get what you want.

Does it have to be a buffet? What price point are you looking?

    • Max 60 if it is exceptional. Would prefer around the $30 mark.

Will make a decision after assessing the options as to whether it needs to be a buffet.

Buffet has sentimental associations with the recipient, so exploring those options first.

I have not explored breafast degustations 🤔

I know u said no casinos, but worth checking out epicurean at crown (albeit pricey)

Plus 1 for this. The worst part is when your full and you havent tried everything yet.

    • Mmm yeah, have had that recommended a bit!

    • +1

This is the best I've ever had.

      • What were the stand out dishes?

    • but worth checking out epicurean at crown

Should be noted, from the website

Please note breakfast is only available to in-house guests on weekends, public holidays and school holidays.

      • … And on the menu, that its only available to external guests on Monday to Friday

      • 👍 all g, only looking at weekday bookings anyway.

Dumpster behind Rockpool. Friday morning is best

If you can go to bankstown, their Korean bbq on weekday lunch at $40 is nice. Nearby hotpot at $25 is really cheap but hasn't tried yet.

Thanks for the recommends. Looking specifically for brecky option atm.

  • Have you looked at other hotels?

  • Are you an accor plus member?

    • No but have may have access via others who are, do you have any specific accor-listed places in mind? (And i've seen the membership deals come up)

        • Manly pacific
        • Fairmont Resort blue mountains
        • Thanks, will look into these

  • I liked the one I had at Radisson Blu. They had a pastries cabinet that rotated but that was a few years ago

    • Thanks, will explore

Glass is average. If you can get a table that can see the QVB, then that's not too bad otherwise it's quite dim in there on a cloudy day.

For $52 a person, Crown is great. You don't have to go to Epicurean, TWR has a pretty good view and the food is decent but not buffet. I'd rather sit downstairs in TWR than Epicurean.

"Barzura at Coogee Beach has excellent breakfast and views of the sea.
    Both indoor and outdoor seating.
Or you could venture next door, upstairs to "Bathers" and get better service and better views of the beach
    Both indoor and outdoor seating..

Swissotel? Tried it before covid not sure about now. Freshly squeezed fruit juice and decent food selection. Not the best but not bad either.

    • Not the best but not bad either.

That sums up just about every hotel breakfast I've had.

My only memorable one was in Lebua Hotel in Thailand which was amazing.

  • Stayed at the Sheraton on the Park a few weeks ago, and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

Not sure how much it costs as it was included in our room rate.

    • Good to know, thanks for the recent review. Highlights?

      • Fresh made waffles & pancakes, very nice pastry selection, heaps of different breads, a separate gluten free bread section if that's your thing. Large selection of different cereals, granolas etc, fresh fruit compotes, fancy yoghurt and bircher mueslis Usual selection of breakfast hot food, custom omelettes etc plus other stuff like whole roasted salmon, roast veges etc. Various asian stuff, stir fry, fried rice, asian soup/congee/noodle section with lots of different things to add and a chef to prepare for you. Nice espressos and you can get a take away one at the end with a few pastries to take on the go.

Was there for four days so tried a lot of it and it was all good.

Edit: Just noticed the actual name is Sheraton Grand Hyde Park

        • Thanks heaps for that!

Never understood Buffet breakfasts and hotels…
$50 for bacon and eggs, toast and orange juice… or a bowl of cereal and a coffee…
    bargain

Good point, if its mediocre. Theres a sentimental reason for this search - but an amazing breakfast feed elsewhere may be cheaper.

    • And hash browns, tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages, ham, cheese, custom omelettes, pancakes, pastries, fruit, congee, etc etc.

      • -2

and all worth about $10-15 max.

        • +1

Plus the seven pastries you sneak into the handbag for lunch!
And pocket bacon if you are really a player.

        • +2

Where could you get all that for $15? Even cooking it yourself?
